Striving for Health

I lost 50 lbs. with Weight Watchers. Got off Cholesterol and blood pressure meds. Then got Rheumatoid Arthritis, had 2 should repair surgeries when my bones cut through my rotator cuffs, and my weight loss came to a stand still, but for 2 years have kept that weight off. Now I'm using Spark People and getting results again. Still struggling with pain, medications, etc., but grateful and determined.

Thank you Janis for your encouraging comment on my blog...and thanks too for the prayers. I have been drinking one large mug of "Breathe Easy" tea each morning. I have stopped taking my inhalers. Sometimes after say walking up the steps or even walking across the house, I will get really SOB...but I take my PUlse Ox and it reads "94" (which is good for me) but my Heart Rate is 145. I am wondering if m y breathlessness is cardiac??? Anyway, I 've had to do two nebulizers in the past two weeks, which really isn't too bad
I think the tea is helping me....but it must be taken profilactically.

Anyway....I'm glad to be back on Spark....even though I am only using certain portions of the "program"---It is good to have the support of friends.

Hi Janis. I saw your comment on the RA team, responding to one gal that she had a flare-up and what more to do, and you said about how you swear by the Imak Arth. gloves. You said that they give a light compression. I've had so many different varieties and brands and I'm sure that I've had them, to no avail. Nothing helps, just the meds., when they're working right. I wonder now if the Orencia is working to it's potential! That's another story. Anyway, about the gloves, I've even gotten the ones for the computer that plug right in to it and heat up, but they're not warm enough. Other than the meds. when I'm bad, I tape hand warmers to my wrists, but that doesn't get the whole hand. Joanne Fabrics has arth. gloves for when sewing,e tc. and I've gotten them to no avail and they say light compression. Maybe I'm more of a serious case! My feet are so painful too, so I'm to have an MRI on the worst foot to see if its the Orencia that's not working all the way or if it's another issue. I'm telling you this because I know that you understand you evidentally have painful hands and more than likely, feet too. I feel in some way I'm worse than last year. I think of shoes that I used to wear for Winter, and I wouldn't think of them now! What are your thoughts? Hugs to you, Dearie, Karen
