Easter: my roast carrots and (teenaged, autistic) son's lemon bundt cake.

Son played in Special Olympics Tourney at Patriots' Stadium. That's him in red. No one was hurt.

Striving for Health

I lost 50 lbs. with Weight Watchers. Got off Cholesterol and blood pressure meds. Then got Rheumatoid Arthritis, had 2 should repair surgeries when my bones cut through my rotator cuffs, and my weight loss came to a stand still, but for 7 years have kept that weight off. Now I'm using Spark People and getting results again. Still struggling with pain, medications, etc., but grateful and determined.

From a dietary perspective, I take in three servings of dairy every day (ff milk, yogurt, and low fat string cheese). I am now up to 2000 IU of Vit D3 supplement, and there is more D3 in my calcium pill that I take at noon.

It's such a balance.

"Direct yourself, consistently and persistently, toward the places, situations, experiences, people and results that you wish to have in your life. You have more than enough energy, opportunities and ability, when focused in a specific direction, to achieve whatever you choose. So choose to choose. Decide how your life will be, this hour, this day, this year, this century, and live the true richness of making it happen."
-- Ralph Marston

PS: That is great that your son wants a culinary career, I wish him the best. That lemon bundt cake on your top picture looks delicious and so beauitful. I love your watercolor, too. What a talented family!

Hi Janis ~ Thank you for the post with the prayer for National Day of Prayer on our team. I am sorry I didn't see it earlier. I copied and pasted it into a blog on my page to share with others. Thank you so much for posting it. I know it is past noon now, but it is never too late to pray. Hopefully other will see it and join us in lifting up our nation today and in the days to come. Thank you again for sharing the prayer, it is beautiful. God bless you! emoticon emoticon Love, Kandice

“Not to give up under any circumstances should be the motto of our life: we shall try again and again, and we are bound to succeed. There will be obstacles, but we have to defy them. So do not give up, do not give up!
Continue, continue! The goal is ahead of you. If you do not give up, you are bound to reach your destined goal.”
