Well, Walgreen's did have my Orencia in today, so with them notifying me, in I went to town for it. And I know too, how each employee seems so dumb (I have to say too!!) about what it is and do I use a co-pay card and do I have a more recent one. I know that they have one on file and they sure should know about co-pay cards and I love the $5 charge, by the way. I suppose that we really shouldn't complain with getting it at that cost as it could really be thousands of $'s!! It always seems funny to me that they have to wait for their supplier to bring in the biologics. I know that it was that way with the Enbrel and the Humira also. I mean, don't they have enuf patients to keep a decent amt. in stock......like insulin? It just seems strange because insulin has to be refrig. too. Oh well, I guess there are worse things. I had my injection tonight and I hope that I start feeling better especially with the Prednisone going down on doses, back down to 5 mg.! Have an awesome week! Hugs, Karen
Hi Janny! Well, here's an even more up-to-date on what's been going on with my RA. Now I don't know for sure if the Orencia did kick in with what's been going on since I wrote you last. I had over a week in there of screaming pain with tears and a lot of hot baths, as hot as I could take them. Oh my, did that ever feel good. It made me wonder if I was in a long flare or if the Orencia hadn't kicked in. So I talked to my Rheumy and he gave me the prescrip. of the tapering Prednisone once again, the same thing that he had given me from when I saw him on Jan. 22. I see him again on April 22. I'm overwhelmed with how much better I feel with being on the 20 mg. of Prednisone! I feel like living once again! I went to pick up my Orencia too and the pharmacy didn't have it in from their supplier. They knew that I had it on order. That wasn't the first time I've gotten it from there. Hello?! They told me that it should be there on Monday. Can you believe it? Have you ever had any trouble getting it? If I really thought it was working, then I'd really be hot under the collar, but since I don't know for sure and then now have the Prednisone to give me some relief, I'm sitting pretty good. Are you still doing good? I hope so! I'll keep you updated.
Have a good week-end~ ! And a lot less pain too. Karen
Thanks Janny, for checking up on me. I'm doing pretty well with the Orencia. I'm very pleased with so much less pain in my wrists and hands. It seems though, that I have more pain in my feet and ankles and wow, do they ever hurt most of the time. I'm hoping that the Orencia will keep on working and working so I can feel better and better everywhere. I haven't felt any side effects with it so far and it's been about 1-1/2 months that I've been on it. I was on Enbrel for my first biologic and that never kicked in or I never gave it enough time to kick in and then I got on Humira and started feeling so much better and it worked well until I got an intestional infection, so it had to be stopped and then when that cleared up, I could start it again, only for it to multiply the little psoriasis that I've had. I mean really bad. When it reached my eyelids and ears, my Rheumy and I said enough. My psoriasis is working really hard at getting cleared up now, so that's a good feeling too. So overall, I would say that Orencia's a winner and I hope that I keep having good luck like you! We'll love every moment of it while it's working so good and no tough side effects! We'll just keep our heads up and will keep plugging along at this weight loss, and we'll be doing all that we can! Hugs, Karen
