HEY, FROM COW TOWN.

YESTERDAY WAS A NEW EXPERIENCE FOR ME. I FINALLY CONFRONTED MYSELF AND ACKNOWLEDGED HOW MUCH OF MY MIND AND MY TIME HAS BEEN DEVOTED TO FOOD.

THIS WEEK I WANT TO REMEMBER:

1) THE FLAVOR OF FOOD DIMINISHES AS I REACH SATISFACTION-FULNESS.
IT IS FAR MORE TASTY AT THE BEGINNING OF A MEAL WHEN I AM TRULY HUNGRY.

2) MY HUNGER WILL BE DETERMINED BY MY BODY, NOT THE CLOCK.

3) DEALING WITH CRAVINGS:
THEY COME WHEN I LEAST EXPECT THEM;
I WILL EXPECT THEM AND PREPARE FOR THEM.
THEY COME WHEN I AM VUNERABLE:

4) I WILL REST.

5) KNOW TEMPTATION TIMES AND LOCATIONS.
FLEE THE SCENE.

6) KNOW THE LIES I TELL MYSELF WHEN I SURRENDER AND TELL MYSELF THE TRUTH INSTEAD.

7) IT COMES WHEN I LOSE FOCUS.
I WILL KEEP MY MIND CENTERED.

8) I WILL WAKE UP AND RECOGNIZE TIMES OF TEMPTING AS FORKS IN THE ROAD.
TWO CHOICES.
ONE LEADS TO OBESITY.
ONE LEADS TO HEALTH.

My Goals:
I need to lose weight before my next surgery appt. in February. I had a TIA in December 2007 and November 2009.

I am prayerful that all will be well in February.

I MISSED THE MARK WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE SURGERY.
POST PONED UNTIL NEXT YEAR.

MUST LOSE WEIGHT TO BE SAFER.





My Program:
I have been sucessful in the past by following TOPS as a member. (from 500 to 140 in the '80's) but with the meds I take I have not been sucessful anymore.

I am relying on my faith in God & following Gwen Shamblin's "EXODUS Out of Egypt" The Weigh Down Workshop Program; Christ centered, approach to my health, nutrition & wt loss & self-esteem issues.

My PCP has recommended Water Aerobics for me and placed me under the guidance of a nutritionist.

It's been a year and I am still riding the roll a coaster.

I am confident 2010 is the year I will get off and my new life will begin.

Stroke 01/24/2011 side tracked but not derailed. Yeah! ;0)

    I am just checking in to wish you a Happy & Healthy New Year. I pray you are doing well. We are in the bitter cold of winter right now here in North Eastern Pa. I am starting this year with a fresh new mind set so it will be exciting as I continue on ward to see the outcome at the end of this year!!

    Im Backkkkkkkkk! and Id like to invite you to join in my challenge to lose 10 pound in July. i know some of us might be saying 10 pounds? that is too much! cant do it! But i here to tell u i did it for 7 months straight, b4 i got sick with cancer and had dropped out for a yr and a half. if u stay within ur calories that are alotted and if u track everything that passes ur lips u can do it too. I was never one that stayed on a diet more than 3 weeks at a time, and then I'd get discouraged and dropped off. i lost 75 pounds just doing calorie counting and tracking to make sure i never went over. i barely exercised ...i am handicapped and i cant do exercises in the conventional way but i flapped my arms while sitting and leg raises. very minimal stuff. the idea was to keep moving and i did that. so i know with disipline, encouragement and motivation u can too.. so i invite u to come and join me on my 10 pound challenge! emoticon emoticon
