I WANT TO BE HEALTHY

2013--Starting fresh!

This is my year to lose weight and get healthy. I have Lupus, Asthma, Allergies and a fast heartbeat. I am going to count my calories and exercise more. I am going to set my goals in 10 lb. increments so I don't get overwhelmed. In the past I would just focus on the total amount and get frustrated and quit.

Joining the Bahama Mamas has been the best for me. Having their support has made a big difference!

Hi Jean! I'm doing a modified version of JJ Smith's 10 day green smoothie cleanse. I like to chew my food, so the full cleanse of replacing three meals seemed too extreme for me.

I haven't felt hungrier than usual. I get hungry at the same times. If it's between smoothies, I snack on a crunchy veggie with a protein or an apple with some peanut butter.

The smoothies themselves are very basic: a few handfuls of greens, 2 cups of water, 2-3 cups of fruit, 2 tbs. ground flaxseed. Nothing pre-packaged, which is why I decided to try it. I already had all the ingredients on hand!
