HEALTHY WOMAN IN TRAINING!

Like many people on Spark, I feel like I have been on a never ending road to reaching my weight loss goal, but I have made some other amazing accomplishments along the way.

Like many people on Spark, I feel like I have been on a never ending road to reaching my weight loss goal, but I have made some other amazing accomplishments along the way.

First of all, I love to exercise! I never thought I would say that! I have fallen in love with Zumba, Kickboxing and Jillian Michael's workouts. I have also discovered that waking up at 4:45 A.M. to complete a workout program with your husband is a great way to start the day! The feeling after a great workout is the BEST!

On 3/20/10 I ran my 1st 5K and learned why people love RACE DAY! I do not run to win the race, but love the adrenaline of race day, and the chance to beat my own time. In March of 2011, I ran my first 10K!!! 2013 was a big year for me - the big 4-0 and the decision to train for my 1st half marathon. On Labor Day I ran my 2nd 10K. On November 17th I completed my first half - not as well as I would have liked, due to an injury, but I finished!

So...I did not reach my weight loss goal, but I HAVE accomplished a lot! One step at a time!!! What is in store for 2014? I know one thing - I will NEVER GIVE UP!

Thank you for reading and commenting on my blog.
I think I'm doing better. I've been doing some low impact aerobics and between that and the fall I'm a bit sore, but I think I'm less sore today.

I've been seriously carb cycling for about a month, I lost 6lbs in 4 weeks. Before that I was making sure that my carb totals for the day don't go over 100 gms. A co-worker who was pre-diabetic and lost 30 lbs talked to me about the 100 gm daily total her doctor ordered for her. It's worked for her along with exercising.
If you have issues with your feet/ankles zumba can aggravate them. There's alot of pivoting and turns your ankles are involved in. If you also have the wrong sneakers you're adding to it too.
