Working on a Better Me!

Here we go again! Another 5% challenge is begun today. I have 13.4 lbs to lose in 8 weeks. This time I splurged and bought myself a new tool to add to my arsenal. I bought the Spark Activity Tracker. It was easy to setup and link to my SP account. All I have to do is get close to my computer with it and it will download all my steps for the day wirelessly. Here we go again! Another 5% challenge is begun today. I have 13.4 lbs to lose in 8 weeks. This time I splurged and bought myself a new tool to add to my arsenal. I bought the Spark Activity Tracker. It was easy to setup and link to my SP account. All I have to do is get close to my computer with it and it will download all my steps for the day wirelessly. Any activity that moves my foot will be recorded. Other exercise, like strength training, I will track on the fitness tracker. I hope to stay motivated with this new tool.

My fitness plan includes walking the half mile from the free parking lot at school to the Business College and back 4 to 5 days a week. The trip back is all uphill and is a challenge. I will try to get out and do additional walking on the weekends going to the Farmer's Market, fairs, and other events.

My nutrition plan is to eat mostly lean protein and lots of veggies. I will limit breads and will try to make them whole-grain when I do indulge. My snacks will consist of nuts with raisins or other dried fruit. I will allow myself a small dessert a few times a week to keep from going on a binge. I will attempt to drink more water and my other drinks will have Splenda in them rather than sugar.

I grew up in Kingman, Arizona and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico with my second husband, Galen. I have three boys from my first marriage, all grown. I am currently attending school full-time and working to build my husband's writing career into a profitable business.

The hip thing isn't serious. Just annoying. In fact it's much better since the physio treatments and prescribed exercise. It's something I should have addressed years ago.
