Jeckie's Junk

"Long after people forget what you did and said, they will remember how you made them feel."

It's amazing how our goals change. I find myself at the end of a year looking more at improving running times and wearing smaller clothes than what the scale says. I've had great successes this year in both areas, and this journey has taken on a whole new feel.

The Spring 5% Challenge was a success! I lost 7.8 pounds (approx 3.5%) and had a great time! So for the summer challenge I've decided to help out as a leader! It will keep me honest. :)

5% is approximately 10.5 pounds. I look forward to continued success!

Okay, so I've joined my first challenge here on Spark! The Spring 5% Challenge (can you believe I've been here over 4 years and never done one? Geez!)

My goals are to:
Keep calories/fat/protein within range 6 days/week
Exercise at least 5 days/week
Check in with my team at least once per day
Be motivating to others!

Here we go!!!

----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------

It's hard for me to say what my "plan" is. These days if I make it through the day sane I count it in the win column!

Being a full time student on top of full time work is a challenge. I graduate in August, though, and I refused to wait until then to take care of myself! Those late-night study sessions can wreak havoc on the body and mind if we let them!

I do want to lose weight - but more than that, I want to feel good! My knees do much better when I am active and not eating junk.

I applied, despite my reservations surrounding their preference for someone fluent in another language and the full on 5 years in an accounting dept... We shall see. Thanks again emoticon

Thanks for the job lead! I do have some accounting and A/R background, but it looks like they want someone will a full 5 years IN an accounting dept., and I've only helped out with that as a part of admin and then sales. Interesting place, though; I'll keep an eye on the career board; thanks!

The dark side, huh? LOL! If you're there, it's bound to be FUN! The sweet potatoes didn't surprise me as much as the oatmeal. I've been eating sweet potatoes a few times a week since I started my heavy lifting. Oatmeal? That's been off the menu since September. I'm a little afraid of how my body might react to adding a grain back in. I'm really enjoying the lack of inflammation and the smaller clothing sizes since cleaning up my diet. Oatmeal just sounds so dirty! LOL!! And the biggest change will be adding two planned cheat meals weekly. That sounds down right INDULGENT!
