Chasing Boston: From 290 to 3:10:47

Hi all, I joined Spark to stay consistent and committed to a healthy lifestyle. After a dreadful March 2008, I decided to change my life and to lose the weight. My entire life I was overweight and at 290 pounds, I could hear the clock ticking.

As a result of healthy choices and a running regiment, I lost 130 pounds and finished the 2008 Marine Corps Marathon 3:42:10! In October, I ran the Chicago Marathon at 3:16:48 and just qualified for the 2011 Boston Marathon after finishing ...

Of course. It's a great privilege, honor. Fantastic.
And you have an inspiring story to tell and motivate others.
Congratulations.

I do live in DC! I live on Capitol Hill and work in Silver Spring. How about you?

Would be great to get together for a run... but you're waaaaaayyyy faster that I am!

I was really looking forward to my longer run this weekend, but am afraid we're going to get snowed in! I am so unprepared for running in so much snow and ice. Brrrr!!!

What an amazing honor to be featured in RW! Any reason not to do it? Sounds like a super cool opportunity to me!

Good luck on December 6! I don't know how old you are but I know that if you don't slow down, you've got Boston easily in your next age group. I'm sure you know that the C.I.M. is a very fast course. Once you qualify, maybe we should try to see how many SparkPeople will be running the 2011 Boston Marathon. I've run Boston 4 times but if SparkPeople gets me to my goal weight, I might make 2011 the 5th.
