Hi my name is Kimmie. I am a 41 year old business owner from the Ft. Lauderdale area. I have been struggling with my weight from the age of 18. My heaviest weight was 300 pounds. At age 22 I started to consistently put on the weight year after year. Working nightshift for over 8 years only seeem to make things worse. I was living on Snickers and Dr. Pepper just to get throught the endless nights. I ballooned up to a size 22/24. I was always the yo-yo dieter. I tried every diet out ...
I tried every diet out there, nothing seem to stick. In 2005 I lost 60 pounds only to regain 30 back. Once again I failed! My eye opening moment was when my big/baggy pants weren't so big and baggy anymore and I watched a tape of me playing tennis. I couldn't believe that was truly me. How did I let myself get so big?? Always labeled as the "fat friend" and being diagnosed as severely obese and barely having the energy to do anything I said enough is enough its time to change your life and on Decemeber 1st, 2007 I Made The Change!! I have now lost a total of 130 pounds and I am smaller than I was in high school. . The show "The Biggest Loser" has been my biggest inspiration throughout this weight loss journey. Thanks to the support of my wonderful family, SparkPeople and my awesome trainer Susie I have now completed 20 5Ks, 2 10Ks, Triathlon and 17 Half Marathons and 3 Full Marathons.... In October 2009 I completed my first Full Marathon in Baltimore and then again in January 2010 I did Disney Full Marahon.... Something I never thought was possible!!

I have dealt with lots of stress and turmoil throughout the weight loss. My biggest let down was losing friends. I never realized who the real friends were until now. I know in life when we have changes, come consequences and I have seen them all. I have worked way to hard to let anyone sabatoge my dreams. I am heading back to school to become a personal trainer and spin instructor. Who would of thought those words would be coming out of my mouth. I truly love to help people and since I have the experience and have been down this road I feel I will become the best coach their is.....

Well I achieved my biggest goal on June 28th, 2008 which was my first 5K Run!! It was truly the greatest feeling not to mention the biggest accomplishment for me. My parents don't even know how to react, they are still in shock. I think my time shocked my daddy the most. He knew I would run it but I really don't think he was thinking I would do that good. I actually placed 12th out of 26 girls in my age group. I am so happy with that.

Well I ran my 2nd race on August 9th, 2008 and I did amazing! I ran it in 29 minutes shedding over 2 minutes from my 1st 5K Run... Yes there is many more. Well I ran my third 5K September 7th, 2008 and I did awesome. I placed 18 out of 76 girls in my age group and the best part is I ran it with my trainer. So much fun!! My 4th 5K was on September 28th, 2008. I came in 9th place. I was in the Top Ten.. Whoo Hoo!! I am getting better at this!

I did my first 10K Run December 20th.. never stopped finished 1 hour and 6 minutes......... I love running so much never thought it was possible!

January 10th, 2009 Second 10K.. Knocked 4 minutes off my time... 1 hour 2 minutes.. Placed 5th in age group!!

Throughout thepast 2 yeasr I have ran numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, a Triathlon, eight 1/2 Marathons, & 2 Full Marathons.... I'm really getting this running down!!

I am so thankful to SparkPeople words can't express. They have nominated me to do a weight loss story in Womans World Magazine. I appeared in the November 10th, 2008 issue. I can't even believe this is happening to me. I am always the one buying magazines to read about weight loss stories and now its me people will be reading about. How cool is this... Thank you so much for this amazing exeperience.

November 17th 2008 I headed to New York City to be on the Today Show Live. They have inducted me into the "Joy Fit Club" for losing over 100 pounds! I am so excited words can not describe. I truly am living the "American Dream!"

I am extremely thankful to my wonderful trainer Susie who has been my backbone through this whole journey. Mom & Susie are my biggest supporters ever!! I couldn't have made it without them. Words can't express enough how much I love them and appreciate them in my life!

I have come so far on this weight loss journey and from time to time I remind myself that I don't ever have to go back. I get to be the New Kimmie for the rest of my life, the healthy and fit girl!! No Looking Back!! This truly is the "Time Of My Life"!!

I am now a Personal Trainer......I love helping people that are struggling with the same thing I have struggled with for years!!!

This is the best time of the year for you to begin anew as your Sun sign gives you strength to make a fresh start. Cancer is a wonderful sign for a woman to be as it is the sign of the mother, who is in control of her family. You have tenacity to stay with and finish any task you start. You can be a nag and you want everything don't yesterday and done your way. Often you are the "Little Red Hen" who ends up doing it all. Learn to direct others so they take part in the work. Cancer can certainly have a weight problem as she loves to cook and to eat. But, she also has tenacity and can exercise and keep herself fit if she wants as this is her way to setting an example to those around her. She gets along with Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus, Pisces and Scorpio. She is a saver and most often has her secret cash account.
She can have health issues with her breasts.
In Cancer the Sun is receptive and moody. You are a very sensitive person who is easily influenced by your environment. You are likely to be exceedingly protective of your feelings, as well as the feelings of those to whom you are close. Emotions are strong in your nature. You approach life with many feelings and a strong nurturing tendency. Your moods are varied and changeable. They are synchronized to the Moon, flowing in and out like the tide. You are acutely aware of the atmosphere of feelings surrounding you. You're skeptical and distrustful of people. It's not what they say, but simply the way they say it and the way you interpret their meaning.
You need to tell your deepest thoughts. When those around you are not receptive, you can become quite difficult to reach. The "crabby" part of Cancer shows up once in awhile, as well. When these moods are in control of your behavior, you can snap someone's head off for no reason at all. People you live around have to learn that you are not really angry with them. This is just the way Moon children are sometimes. By nature you are quiet and somewhat reserved, frequently retreating or putting up a protective barrier when you feel in any way threatened.
You are attuned to the past. You tend to cling to reminders and memorabilia of your family and of earlier times. Many Cancers are attracted to collecting antiques. You may be one of those people who collects just about everything. It's hard for you to part with something when there may be a chance need some rainy day, no matter how remote that chance may be. Cancers are the original "pack-rats."
You place much importance on the home and family. Your family or your "family of friends" is the center of your life. They provide you your sense of security and belonging. Your role in this environment is the source of your self-esteem and often overshadow your sense of individuality. It's hard to break away from your early upbringing and depart from the family traditions you have experienced. Cancer is the sign of motherhood. In both sexes, it produces a parenting instinct that is caring, protective, and indulging. Even unmarried Cancers adopt friends, co-workers, and neighbors in an extended family situation.
Hardworking and dedicated, you make an excellent employee. You are loyal and respect authority. This makes you supportive and protective of the boss and rarely questioning company policy. You do find it very difficult to handle change and disruption. If you are the boss, you like your employees to be dedicated as you are. Unfortunately, sometimes you may surround yourself with "yes men" who simply reinforce your decisions. You don't take chances or risk sweeping change.
Money is very important to you. Not for what it will buy or for the freedom it provides, but for the sense of security it provides. No matter what else is to be said of Cancer, security and having the protective shell in place, is overriding. -
