Hi, I'm Jeanette from Charlotte, NC. I joined Sparks in June 2008 and have enjoyed the journey.

SPRING 2017 --drat-back up to 180, and working on it, hard. daily. I feel that weight loss needs to be the primary goal of this Spring Challenge time for me. I will be following an online program focusing on clean eating and total health. I have several health issues that I really need to get under control and with the help of God, family and my medical team of doctors, I will succeed this spring.

I love GOD, family, animals and flowers. God is the center of my life and health is my motivation for weight loss. Since losing some of my weight, my blood pressure is consistently reported as on target. My cholesterol is also in good range. My better diet and exercise have already changed my life.

Below are som of the milestones of my journey through SPARKS in the past, but I need a new start in this SPRING 2017.

FALL 2015 - now down to 173--WOOHOO slowly getting there.

Jan. 2014--after seeing that scale down in the 168 target, I'm up to 180 I go AGAIN--TALK ABOUT YO-YO. But I'll never give up trying to be healthier. See my GOALS for my plan.

EDIT 9-17-12: A New Start AGAIN - Now at 180 AGAIN--i have more wt. to lose to get to my goal of 165. I've re-joined FIRECRACKERS 5 % team and will do all I can to lose at least that 5 % which will be 9lbs approximately.
EDIT-3-1-2010: On Jan 1 this year I had 2 mini strokes, each ending up leaving 2 spots of placque in my retinal eye, which have left me with vision impairment. It has been very difficult to adjust to my new way of life which include major diet changes, but I am extremely grateful that the plaque fragments went to my eye and not to my brain, which could have caused major loss of the use of other parts of my body. I think God was directing in that instance and kept me from major handicap. The question I now ask myself is: Why did God leave me here, and what does He want me to do for Him? I want to do His work daily.

I'm in this thing of weight loss for the long haul, until I'm at goal and will not give up till I get there. I'm looking at 165.

I lose slowly but surely and that's ok, just so I keep on the down slope!

I am a positive thinker so would rather think of the pounds lost than the pounds to go :0)

WHATEVER IT TAKES is my motto. I am willing to give it my all to get healthy. I've done enough damage to this 70 yo body. Now it's time to take care of it.

So --I'm in this to lose and already have lost...70.5 lbs

Jan.2010 started in the hospital for me...facing the reality that my bad eating habits had caught up with me: I was having TIA - mini stroke, pieces of plaque from my carotid arteries flaked off and lodged in the retinal artery, causing partial vision loss in one eye. Considering that it could have gone to my brain and caused loss of any number of bodily functions, I thank God it was not worse.

AT 175.5 I have now lost 68.5 pounds. My personal goal is 165 which means I only have 10.5 pounds to go. These last pounds are coming off slowly so I will have to be very consistent in my resolve to stick to the above goals.

Hello my little firecracker! We are in this weight loss thing together! If you need an accountability partner please let me know. I can tell you are a very positive person. I am too or at least I try to be - fake it until you make it, right? Anyway, I love your testimonial. You are here for a very special purpose. God loved you so much He knew your family needed you to stay with them because you are important. I just can go on and on and sing your praises about your bio but I will stop right here. Have a great night and God bless you sister.

Congratulations on being FOTD. My brother-in-law who lives near Charlotte was treated for cancer in Winston Salem and my granddaughter and I visited our relatives and him last summer. He is doing better without a return of his cancer, but since the treatments, he has developed dementia. Thank you for all you do for our team as well as your volunteer work for cancer victims. Have a nice day! emoticon
