Update: I have completed my first month, and I am down 9lbs so far! Can't wait for what new discoveries and accomplishments I can make in the second month!

I have been a member of SparkPeople for several years now, but I have never utilized it, nor have I lost any weight for good. (I have a few times but gained it all back!) Now I am the heaviest I have ever been in my entire life. :( Not cool. So I am starting a whole new account to re-motivate myself, and to hopefully start finding motivation in this environment.

My Goals:
I want to lose 75 pounds or so. I have never been successful at losing weight least, not long-term. I am what you would consider a yo-yo dieter. I am SO tired of it. I couldn't lose the weight for my wedding (in fact I have gained about 20 pounds since then!), but that doesn't mean I can't change it now. It's going to happen this time.

Starting Weight=220.4 on 10/14/12

My non-weight related goals as I go on my journey include:

Being able to touch my toes from standing and sitting on the floor.

Being able to sit on the floor with my knees tucked to my chest and my arms wrapped around my knees comfortably.

Being able to lie flat on the floor and sit up without swinging my legs up and down for momentum or using my

My Program:
Tracking my food intake. This includes every single thing I eat or drink that has calories in it. I am using the My Fitness Pal app on my iPhone to track my calories. Currently eating 1630 calories or less per day.

I virtually cut out pop from my diet. I have had one glass of pop since starting.

I am making myself move more. Whether it's doing part of a workout video for 20 minutes or going for a walk with one of my friends for an hour, I try to do SOMETHING each day I don't work. (I work 12 hour shifts as a nurse 3 days a week and am exhausted from being on my feet for 12 hours by time I get home)

I am trying to eat out less, cook at home more, snack less, and eat more fresh foods and less processed foods.

Personal Information:
I work as a nurse at a small rural hospital on a med-surg floor. I love my job, even after the bad days. The thing I love most is being able to be a healing presence for my patients, taking the time to listen to them, comfort them, and heal them.

On the side, I have started my own small business called Dazzled Decoupage. I make custom decoupage home decor, such as wooden letters, coat racks, custom names and shapes on my saw, holiday cookie/candy plates, coasters, and much MUCH more! I love the creativity it allows me to have and being able to make things other people enjoy. If you would like to check out some of my stuff, go to

Other Information:
I also enjoy being very involved with my church. I am part of the worship team, singing and playing piano. Also am trying to start up a weekly women's Bible study. I love my Lord and He loves me!! Can't imagine my life without our great God and all He has done for me. So eternally grateful for His love!

As you can tell, I am a very busy person! But I love every minute of it. Finally, I have an incredibly amazing husband who I couldn't live without and he is super supportive in all I do! I love life, and I'm loving the journey I'm on.
