Finally doing this for myself..

Hey all! I'm adopting a healthier lifestyle for myself. I recently got out of a long term relationship and am looking on rebuilding my life entirely. I've become addicted to running! I originally started running for weight loss but now I run for enjoyment and have really become into it. I have been on sparkpeople for a few years and have lost weight in the past but always gained it back. I think I gained it back because I never did it for myself and was always extremely unhappy with myself. Now I'm finally finding out who I am, loving myself, and becoming more confident. I want to do this for me. I know i'll be successful this time because I finally want to do something that will only benefit myself and help me to grow.

My Goals:
- My short term goal is to get to 190lbs.

- My second short term goal is 170lbs.

- Long term 135.

- No more being in the 200s!

- My running goals are to run my first 5k on June 19th. No matter the speed. (DONE! In 40 mins! Placed 140/199! :D )

- Run an entire 5k without walking. (DONE! 8/08/10)

- Run a 5k in 35 minutes.

- Run a 5k in 30mins.

- Run first 10k

- Run first half marathon

- Run the NYC marathon before I'm 30 years old.

- Get to a BMI lower than 30 (Current 35)

My Program:
I run almost daily only taking a few rest days. I also monitor my diet and allow one 'off' day on Sundays where I don't feel bad for indulging in a chocolate bar or some ice cream. I play Wii Fit for the fun of it. I also do Pilates and Yoga.

Personal Information:
I am from NYC and go to school in Potsdam, NY.

Congrats on the running the 5k back in June...I am dreaming that will be me some day...never had to ran over a few hundred yards, playing football...so, that's a goal of mine is enjoying running, no matter the pace...

Also, to hear you do Wii Fit, I don't feel alone in that...

Keep the great work...you are a motivation to me!!!

im dealing with tons of stress as well which hasnt helped me at all. all i do is sleep at this point. i wantto a doctor and found out i might be bipolar so i think that is one of the reasons i am having such a hard time sticking with what i do.. idk. hope to hear from you soon.

Hi read your post. I feel the way you do sometimes. I get that same mentality. But you gotta say to yourself I gotta keep doing this to reach my goal cuz if you don't put in the hardwork you are never going to get there. I look in the mirror to and find all the things i hate. but you got to this for you and not anyone else. Hope you hang in there=)
