I have no personal words of wisdom and am still trying to find my footing in the area of healthy living, but I have a couple of favorite sayings:
You are the captain of your own ship (I'm sure someone famous said it, but I've been saying it my entire adult life--who knows where it came from?) and "Things turn out the best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out" (John Wooden? Art Linkletter?).
Given these two pearls of wisdom, I'm starting back on the journey I started so long ago. Here's to free will and making good choices.

I will shop for clothes in stores that don't necessarily specialize in "plus size". I will easily slip into and out of chairs without fear of "hip-stickage". I will be able to ride a bike, go for a walk, climb a hill, and dance, dance, dance without being winded quickly.
Updated 7/10/12: I work with a personal trainer and drop in on fitness classes at the gym in addition to treadmill, elliptical, and swimming for cardio. I work out between 3 and 5 days per week, and gave up "land and air meat" back in June, 2010. Not vegetarian, though, because I'm still eating fish. I also cut waaaay back on dairy, although have not eliminated it. Frankly, I love cheese.
I haven't had time lately, but when I do, I enjoy making jewelry, sewing, machine piecing and quilting (my fiance will actually go to fabric stores with me and not complain about being the only guy in the store!), photography, singing, volunteering at the Humane Society, movies, painting/drawing/sculpting/pottery, reading, peoplewatching, and just hanging out when the weather is nice.

Hi, I'm not sure why Sparkpeople didn't send me an email when you commented on my blog (or my memory is slipping) but thanks for stopping by on the 21st to leave a comment about that stoopid airplane seat. I will admit that I did great for about a week, and then I think I undid it all. But hey, I've got just shy of 3 weeks left to work on it. And you've got just shy of 3 months then. I hope your journey is going smoothly, so that your air journey can, too.
