Here we go!

I'm 37 and am tired of being frustrated about my weight. I joined SparkPeople five (!) years ago, but never got motivated enough to really try it out. This time I'm more determined to give the effort needed.

My biggest obstacles are my work and family. I'm in the Navy, working on a Master's degree in a 1 year program, and often work 10-11 hour days, leaving me very little time with my husband and two kids. Spending time with them becomes the priority over getting a workout in. ...

I'm in the Navy, working on a Master's degree in a 1 year program, and often work 10-11 hour days, leaving me very little time with my husband and two kids. Spending time with them becomes the priority over getting a workout in. I need to figure out how to balance it all so that I can be happier with "me".

Wecome back to SP! emoticon Also, thank you for your service!
I read your comment on Sizing in Biggest Loser - I left you a comment there. I see you have 2 children and between your day's work and your children you have very little time to exercise. I applaud you on having your priorities straight. However, I'm wondering if you might incorporate your exercise into the time spent with your kids. Can you play some sports/games with them that would get everybody moving - bike riding, hoops, etc? emoticon emoticon
Of course, I don't know the ages of your children and this might impact this idea - LOL.
Just an idea . . .
Good luck to you! emoticon

WELCOME BACK! Nice to have you with us! I love my Sparkworld, and if you give it another chance, so will you!

First of all, THANK YOU FOR SERVING!! God Bless you! 2 kids? The little time you have to spend with them, make sure you are playing as much as you can, stay active and just PLAY with them!! They will love it, and you will definitely get a workout keeping up with the little ones. My 2 1/2 yr grandson keeps me tired running around playing with him!

Here are tips I put together to share with each new Sparkperson I meet. I hope it will be a help to you as you achieve to reach your goals!

The site can be overwhelming, take your time. Learn one topic at a time, when you get comfortable with it, move on to another area of the site. Soon you will be using all the tools SP has to offer, and loving it!

Use your Spark Points (click on view SparkPoints) as a map to the site. It is a good way to learn your way around and you can earn points to send yourself or others Sparkgoodies.

Go back to your Start Page if you get lost, you can get almost anywhere from there.

Be sure to use the nutrition tracker. You can ensure you are getting the proper nutrients as well as tracking your caloric intake and this is so important to any weight loss journey.

Never "diet" again! Keep focusing on living a healthier lifestyle!

Read the book, THE SPARK for guidance, motivation and inspiration!

Log on everyday to stay focused!

NEVER QUIT!! NEVER GIVE UP!
THINK POSITIVE! If you have a bad day, let it go.
Wake up to a new day, fresh start!

One of my favorite SP quotes (from BobbyD31)
"Remember we all have Setbacks:
ACCEPT it, HANDLE it, and MOVE ON!

Remember, this is a LIFETIME JOURNEY!!

The online community on the site is wonderful! We are all here to offer support when you need it, or celebrate your successes with you. Any type of interest you have, there will be a Sparkteam for it!

Stop by my Sparkpage anytime and let me know how you are doing! I would love to hear from you!

Enjoy your journey to a healthier you!

Have FUN along the way!
