Rockin' 2014!

I have struggled with my weight since my mid-teens. At the begining of 2013 I found out that I have had undiagnosed hypothyroidism for years, probably about 8 years to be exact. This has been a blessing and a curse. It now makes sense why I could be exercising over 20 hours a week only to have my weight continue to creep up. This has been a blessing and a curse. It now makes sense why I could be exercising over 20 hours a week only to have my weight continue to creep up. At the end of 2013, I now feel like my thyroid medication is at the correct level. I feel human again. My depression and extreme tireness have abated. I've lost a few pounds since Thanksgiving. I'm not one for resolutions, but 2014 is shaping up to be a very good year. I know that I can lose the weight for good.

From 2008-2011 I trained and raced in triathlons. This became a huge passion for me. I was at my fittest until a major setback at the end of 2011. I was pulled from the course 100miles into my first attempt at an Ironman. Dehydration got the best of me. After that race, I was emotionally devastated. I stopped training and racing completely. It was at that point that I gave in to the overwhelming sense of fatigue and tiredness that always sat in the back of my mind, I thought due to overtraining. By the end of 2012 my undiagnosed hypothyroid took over and helped me to pack on over 60lbs on my already slightly overweighy body.

So here I am again, starting another weight loss journey; this time armed with knowledge, a team of doctors, and a burning urge to get back and conquer Ironman.

Current Status:
JESUISPRET is finally starting to feel human after being sick for almost two weeks. It's back to the gym tomorrow and I can't wait!!!!

My Program:
I do not believe in dieting. Healthy living is my motto! There is no 'falling off the wagon' in living healthy... we do things to nourish our body and/or soul which includes indulging now and then. I do track my calories though because otherwise I will overeat. I also exercise very frequently as it makes me feel good.

Personal Information:
I live in a (somewhat rural but close to the city) suburb of Seattle, WA. It's a great place to be if you enjoy the outdoors!
