Jewels gettin' down!

To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping”

So I keep stepping, or running, or dancing, hoping someday I reach my goal weight, but never too worried as long as I feel healthy and strong. I love this new life I am living and if I am constantly in worry about the scales then I can't really be happy, right? It makes sense to me. What is your usual pace when you run straight through for 7-8 miles? Galloway has recommended intervals depending on pace. That's one way to look at it.
If you want to adopt your friend's method of running a mile and then walking a minute, do it from the start. You will find that you won't tire as much, so rather than having the walking slow you down, it enables you to continue to run at a faster pace much further into the race. Galloway also says if you have fuel in the tank at the end (with 2-3 miles to go), feel free to run straight through.
Until you try it, it's difficult to believe, but using run/walk can result in a faster overall pace and less chance of hitting the wall.

There's a chart of suggested intervals based on pace.

Thanks. I am so bummed about breaking my finger. I feel like I'll never get that shed built. oh well. I am just going to have to have Terry help more. At least I can still work.

Love you, too!!!
Hey, my ankles are getting better! So far this summer I have done two 5 Ks and one 8K, without total swelling up!
Yesterday every time I was 100 feet away from a marker, I would jog to it. They say those little spurts of speed burn more calories.
