Living A Healthy Lifestyle And Being Fit!
I have had rheumatoid arthritis since age 6 1/2 and have had 20 major surgeries (not all related to it) and I know what its like to have to start over at the beginning again and again. Never giving up has been my life story. I am constantly modifying my activities to suit my body's changes. The severe damage done to my hands and elbows means I can't do serious strength training, but my alternatives worked for me and I have lost a good deal of the weight I had put on. I was 1 lb from goal weight when I broke my right elbow Feb 1st! Being right handed its a real challenge living alone and trying to do day to day tasks. I am on the urgent list for elbow replacement. But I am looking at going from working out intensely every day for usually two hours to zippo! Will the weight creep back during my lengthy lay offs??? One month just to heal, another one for the surgery and who knows how long before I can get to my original intensity? The difference this time is I will be tracking my food. That is all that will be between me and weight gain. I can't put shoes on and the only sandals I have are falling off my feet, how can I even walk safely in those -not having my orthotics makes a big difference to my stability on my feet. Yet another challenge for me! Sometimes I would just love to have a boring ordinary life!

I want to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle and make sure the weight never creeps back on. I want to be as fit as my body will allow me. I enjoy every minute I am able to move!
My Program:
maintenance forced because of broken elbow. No exercise possible until I can find shoes I can put on one-handed and that will hold my orthotics in place -can't walk in sandals need full foot support. So will be tracking my food and watching my calories like a hawk!
