Middle Aged?

I cannot believe I am 45 now. Does that make me middle age? I asked someone recently and they said I am beyond middle age by a few years. Goodness! In the last two years I have lost 55 lbs, but have gained back 10. I have learned I am really good at maintaining my weight, but can't seem to move beyond this plateau. It can be VERY frustrating! Of course, it also creates a situation with me in which I say "why bother"?! I have the knowledge, but need to find and keep the motivation to ...

Now with the nicer weather approaching, maybe I will get back to a good routine and stick with it. I feel so much better now and know I will continue to feel good with the weight loss.

My Goals:
I want to drop to under 200 lbs. and get myself in the habit of working on myself daily to maintain the changes I have made.

1/3/09 - I vow to get back on track and move every day! I need to start back on the right course to feeling and looking better. Each day I plan to move, even if it is just the 10 minute workout video for the bootcamp. I can do this!

8/11/07 - Today I lost my brother after a very courageous battle with cancer. I pray that his strength and determination will be something I can make my own, especially when it comes to losing weight and becoming healthier.

My Program:
Monitoring my food intake is key, whether I write it down or not. Also, eating more frequently (ever 3-4 hours) is key.

Consistency will be crucial for me this summer. I need to make sure I move more and not fall back into old, bad habits.

Personal Information:
I am now under the care of a weight management specialist. I just know there is something more than what is going on with me. I hit the gym 3 days a week and am eating okay. Yet, I have not budged on the scale and my pants are tight.

I have only been under the doctor's care since earlier this week, but so far it has been good. I have lost 7 lbs. this week alone! I am excited by this change. I continue at the gym 3 days a week for Zumba and once a week for strength training. It feels good.

Other Information:
My C.A.G.S. is finished! I am thrilled to be done with school and look forward to what is next in my life.

Thanks for commenting on my Mother Nature blog. Many of the cartoons I found were about a furious Mother Nature. Those cartoons really drew her ugly and even violent. But you are right, she should be mad at us. And one had an Indian woman near a polluted river with chopped down trees behind her on the land. She was crying. I put up the funnier things. I thought we need to laugh--there is so much bad stuff around us.

But thanks for reading my blog and taking time to comment.


I wish for the "good old days" when all our food was organic (even with a few bug holes) and when weed killers and insect sprays were not all around us.

emoticon for stopping by my Feng Shui blog....
I don't really buy into Feng Shui, but it's interesting to pick up little pointers.
1. Less clutter is more soothing to the mind (check).
2. don't block entry points with furniture (check)
3. a little greenery, brings nature and a feeling of harmony. (check)
4. rounded edges are better (considering how many black and blues I've gotten from sharp corners, I would have to agree)
5. everyone needs a sanctuary where they can enjoy some quality time.
now all I need is a book on Feng Shui for the mind
