I am, if nothing else, persistent. I have been on Spark People since June 2010 and am still plodding along on my journey to a healthier lifestyle. I am an emotional eater, and have a tendency to procrastinate, which makes establishing good habits a challenge. However I take this journey one step at a time, one day at a time, and eventually, I will reach my goals.

Fitness Minutes: 41,770

My Goals:
2017 Spring 5% Challenge

Exercise Commitment: I am going to get back into going to the pool again - Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. And I will do my chair exercise DVD on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Nutrition: I plan to use the Mayo clinic diet program and the Spark People Nutrition Tracker with the goal of staying within my calorie range. I am also going to practise abstinence with that being three meals a day, two planned healthy snacks (veggies or fruit), no night time eating after 7:30pm, no second helpings. I am going to make a weekly menu plan so that my meals have structure.

Motivation: 10 reasons I want to lose weight.
I want to:
1. walk without pain
2. prepare for future surgery (hip replacement)
3. be able to go for long walks along the beach without having to stop and rest all the time
4. have my clothes fit better so I look/feel better
5. decrease my risk of diabetes and/or heart disease
6. go up and down stairs without using the chair l


My Program:
-To take this journey one step at a time, one day at a time, and not to beat myself up if I am not perfect. I want to focus on progress and attainable goals.

-63 years young
-live in Western Canada
-have 2 furry kids (cats)
-a Christian
-a hummer - (that way I don't have to remember all the words to a song - just the melody); some people find it annoying, but I come from a family of hummers so its genetic

    Thanks so much for your goodie and kind words. I so appreciate this. Friends and family have been wonderful and I am blessed with this. I am missing Bill already but do cherish the
    special memories and time we had together. emoticon
    I am also sick with laryngitis and a bad cough, so this makes it even worse. I am on meds but it takes awhile to get rid of.......

    I knew the poor ole' boy couldn't last forever, and the lymphoma diagnosis made it very clear that it was his time to cross over. Larry had quite a struggle with various ailments over the past two years, and I struggled with him. He was my boon companion.
