Finally on Track

My name is Jen & I'm a mom to a 6 & 4 year old. Through infertility, pregnancies, & bad habits, I've gained about 70 lbs since getting married in 2001. I've started so many diets in that time I've lost count. In fact, I started her on SparkPeople in 2008, but just recently made the switch I needed to really make things happen. I've decided to start tracking here again to help me stay on track. :)

Hola chickee! Just checking in to see how you're doing. My clothes have officially crossed into the "tight" zone, and I know that means getting my butt in gear on the food front. emoticon Which i DETEST, but hello, we've put SO MUCH WORK into ourselves....can't let it all be for nothing, right?

You running much anymore? I have not been. I run maybe once/twice a month, and had planned to do the Hot Chocolate 15K in Chicago Nov 4 (um, yeah, I admit, because the finisher's mug looks DELICIOUS! chocolate fondue? Um, h#ll yes. lol) but that would require getting off my butt again on the running front. I'm scared. I have not run more than 3 miles since the 4th of July! Ouch.

Hola! Yeah....I've been doing zumba still, and a LOT, but running? Oh man, after the half I pretty much stopped. I ran ONE TIME before the 8K on the 4th of July. And that 5 miles was hard. I had to walk like 20 steps. emoticon

It was just soooo nice for a little while to not obsess over every little thing I ate, you know? I knew I was eating pretty good for a while, and my activity level was good, but then I pushed it and pushed it on the food front, eating potato chips, ice cream, toaster strudel. Blech.

We can get back on track here. Darn it, we worked WAY TOO HARD to let things slip!!!!

OK, so my running buddy and a pal of ours are talking about doing a half in May. It's the only one in town, so it's nice & close, but eeks! That is 6 months from now!!!!

Ooooh....nice job on the half registration!!!! I really (I think) want to try a half next year. I don't think there's any shame in trying and not quite succeeding, right? Only person I'd be trying to prove anything to is MYSELF.....
