Growing up, I didn't have the best role models for exercise or healthy eating. My mom put a stick of butter in everything she cooked, I mean EVERYTHING! Veggies, pasta, bread, etc. It wasn't until I got out on my own that I realized just how bad all of that food was for me.

Growing up, I was teased every day at school for being overweight. I rode horses, which I consider a sport, but I wasn't doing it enough to make a difference.

Growing up, I was teased every day at school for being overweight. I rode horses, which I consider a sport, but I wasn't doing it enough to make a difference.

In 2007, I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Disease (Hypothyroidism). Instead of feeling relieved--Yes, I finally know why I could never lose weight!--I felt defeated. I thought, "what's teh point of even trying if it's not going to come off?" I let my weight balloon and by the summer of 2009 I weighed 240lbs.

The pictures I saw from that summer prompted me to take action. I tried teaching myself how to eat right and workout, but I was never able to stay consistent and my weight yo-yo'ed as a result.

But then I found SP in 2011 and that all changed! Since joining sparkpeople I've stayed committed to getting healthy for the first time in my life! Yes, I've had ups and downs but the difference this time is that when I fall I know how to get back up and each time I make it up quicker.

As of January 28, 2014 (my 29th birthday) I am 170lbs! The last time I was in the 170s was 8 years ago. I'm stronger, faster, braver, and healthier than I have ever been in my life!

Hey thanks for the messgae, I'm mainly interested in the ingredients of the shakes, I highly doubt I'll be getting any for myself, I really don't normally use things like that and have only just started using a protein shake, so thanks for the info will be helpful in my research.

i wont be able to join your challenge unfortunately as I'm on this juice fast for a full 30days plus more, but will be rooting for you and cheering you on as you go!

Hi!
Thanks for the support on my blog! I am loving PiYo and looking foward to the rest of the workouts. Since I'm only on Day 4, I don't feel too many results yet. But getting excited about what the next few weeks will have in store. And yes, if Sweat really was SWEAT. I can imagne Drench. emoticon

I only got the DVD set. Didn't go for the Challenge pack. But will probably order the other 2 DVDs and the sliders.

Hi! I heard about it from my friend and decided to try it. I broke my leg in Febuary and have been trying to find some low impact exercise to do. I am still in my first week but I like it so far!
I haven't tried Shakeology yet, although I hear its good. I just can't spend that much money!!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I have a few friends who are Beach Body coaches-so I ordered PiYo through one of them. She is actually going to get certified as a PiYo instructor later in the year & is doing a group challenge with it starting next week. I have tried Shakeology & actually drink it occasionally. I use it in smoothies but the texture isn't my favorite; its drinkable though. I know a lot of people love it and swear by it, so I'm giving it a try :) Let me know what you think of PiYo and Shakeology!
