Janet's "New Me" initiative

I've decided it's time for me. I have 5 beautiful kids and a loving husband and have started a new career as a Nurse. Now it's time to do a little work on me. Time to be healthier and happier.

*2015 Fitness Commitment : I will walk , run, or otherwise move my body for at LEAST 10 minutes EVERY day. I will do so for at least 1 hour on 3 or more days weekly.

My Goals:
My weight goal is to be under 200 lbs. [ Update: Goal reached on November 24, 2013 ]. My overall goal however is to be able to move the way I want. To have more energy. To feel strong and healthy. I want to be able to literally climb mountains with my family. [ Goal also reached, see " "New Heights " blog entry]

My Program:
I'm taking baby steps at the moment. Cutting out most soda (only diet and much less of that); drinking more water and eating more fruits and veggies. Cutting back on sweets and junk. Trying to move more. I'm not setting any hard and fast rules I can break and give myself the excuse to quit. Just trying to do a little better every day.

Good morning! I've been assigned as your mentor in our Sea-Mentor program with the Starfish :) We're just restarting it this season so we're getting a little bit of a late start. I hope you are doing well and enjoying the challenge so far! I will keep checking in and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you or any questions you might have. Also let me know if there is anything I can do to help support you through the challenge - check on if you're exercising or staying on your program, etc.

Good morning,

Congrats on the loss, I am always grateful for any loss. I actually did well last week, just over a pound lost. I'm really trying to get my steps in each day, yesterday, not so lucky. My husband was off from work and I have difficulty getting exercise in when he's "under foot". LOL
