Welcome to my Spark page!!
Hi, My name is Jocelyn. I am an LPN, and I have two wonderful kids. I'm a single mom, my divorce is officially final!! Guess I can add another 150 lbs to the total amount of weight I have lost!! lol!! Ever since I got pregnant with my daughter, 6 years ago, my weight has been out of control. I honestly didn't realize just how out of control my weight had gotten until I sat down and took a good hard look at myself. Even at my highest weight of 217lbs, I still liked what I saw in the mirror. I still saw myself as thin ( I have NO idea why..) It took some really awful pictures, and a really terrible life experience to turn my world around. Honestly this entire time, I've just been waiting for the other shoe to drop. I've never thought of myself as someone who could be successful at losing weight, or as someone who had enough willpower to turn down their favorite foods. Every day I surprise myself. No doubt this process is frustrating. But, no matter how many times I fall, I will pick myself up and keep going. I will do whatever it takes. Will you? **************************************** ********************* So, I get asked all the time, how long did it take you? Do you have any tips you could give me? When I moved to GA in March of 2008 I weighed 217 lbs. I didn't really get serious about weight loss until probably the first of May, so it has taken me almost 9 full months to lose 90 lbs, and I just about always average a weight loss of 10 lbs per month. My calorie range is from 1200-1500 calories per day, but I rarely if ever go over 1400 calories. I track everything I eat in my nutrition tracker that you are welcome to take a look at :) I also track my exercise in my activity tracker, and I aim to burn about 2500 calories per week, exercising about 45 minutes a day six days a week. As far as tips go, I would say to track your food in your nutrition tracker. That, more than anything else, has made the difference for me. You really have to be dedicated. You have to be in it to win it. You can't be so so or wishy washy about weight loss. If you are not totally dedicated, you can always 'fake it til you make it' but eventually you are going to have to commit to a healthy lifestyle if you want to lose the weight and keep it off!

My Goals:
My goal is to be healthier and happier and to not be defined by the number on the scale. I would like to be less jiggly than I am now.. less body fat.. less cellulite! One thing at a time.. Slow and steady wins the race!
My Program:
I don't have a specific program, per se.. I consume between 1200 and 1400 calories a day, drink 8 glasses of water, and exercise at least 1/2 hour 5-6 times per week. For exercise I do Step Aerobics with Cathe Friedrich, 30 day shred with Jillian Micheals, or I jog. I try to mix it up so I don't get burnt out.
Personal Information:
Just moved back to Indiana after living in Georgia for about a year. Glad to be back!
