I am changing my introduction today, Sept. 22 2015, after 5 years. It took five years but I reached my goal which was to lose 50 lbs. Now I realize I was just afraid to say I needed to lose 65 lbs. back in 2010. Today Sept 22nd 2015 I have posted a new goal that is to lose the other 15 lbs. Thanks to all my spark friends your comments and your inspiring stories have been my rock. I am looking forward to many more sparkling days.

May 1st 2010 was my start date with Spark. Now today April 11 2011 I have a different perspective. I used the nutrition tracker in the spring of 2010 and lost 22 pounds then in the fall of 2010 I stopped doing it. I just got tired of it I have continued to read Spark people emails and have continued to go for walks but the winter saw me gain back all but 6 pounds of my spring weight loss. I obviously haven't changed much if I am still yoyoing. I will continue ... I will use the tracker and I wont give up. Spring is around the corner and I want to get back to where I was last summer. With the help of the tracker and great spark friends I know I can do it. Peace

My Goals:
To find a course of action that will eliminate the temptation to solve emotional issues with sugar and or bread and butter.. To excercise, drink water and appreciate good healthy foods.

My Program:
Walk every day. Start strength training soon.
Cook without sugar.
Track my food consumption. Make sparks friends and learn to use this amazing resource.

Personal Information:
I am Joanna Carnie. I am a grandmother but the grand kids are 18 and 20 years old. I live in northern British Columbia in the countryside near a small village(originally from Montreal). I walk in the woods with my friend and our dogs. I am married and have a part time job at the local college. I read a lot and volunteer at the food bank.

Other Information:
In the last 20 years I have lost around 40 lb. twice. It seems like every 9 or 10 years I decide to lose the weight again. It creeps on at the rate of 3 or 4 pounds a year. I hate the scale and my clothes are tight. I am hoping to break the yoyo cycle this time and keep it off.
