This is a note about a "movie suggestion" for you and Joan. Recently my husband and I saw "Little Boy" at our local theatre, and we both thought it was a wonderful film. It is about an 8yr old who has intense love for his father-- during wartime era. It is about powerful emotion, and about powerful faith. (Not really for small children, however.) Oh, and Joan might need some tissues-- I did.
