February 14, 2017 - It's been a crazy beginning to this year. Had several illnesses, but am finally back on track. 18 month visit with the surgeon's office yesterday was very encouraging. But I know - one day at a time!
January 1, 2017 - It's been a long year, with many changes. Some good, some bad, some sad; but ultimately all what's best for me. I won't say I'm starting over, cuz I'm not; I've already come so far. But I am starting again, from where I am now. First goal - Stepping down another weight category; so that would be to get to a weight of 216!
April 24, 2016 - I've been having a tough time the last few months, I've been dealing with terrible neck pain, which has made it almost impossible to exercise. I have gone to several specialists and finally have a diagnosis - degenerative disc disease, affecting 4 of my cervical vertebrae. I will have to have surgery eventually to correct it, but for the time being I'm going for pain management. I go for my first treatment, a nerve block, in about 2 1/2 weeks.
January 10, 2016 - Still moving along. The holidays and illnesses have made things tough, so I'm going back to basics. Down 80 pounds!
November 9, 2015 - 3 month post op - down another 19 pounds according to the surgeon's office scale! They are really happy with my progress.
October 4, 2015 - 2 months post-op - Doing great! I joined a gym a couple weeks ago, and I've been going everyday. I don't do the same workout - I change the length and intensity so I don't burn myself out. Looking to start adding strength training this week.
September 8, 2015 - 1 month post-op appointment went very well. They were happy with the 16 pounds I lost since surgery. First goal - another 25-30 pounds lost by the end of the year. I was also cleared for exercise. I'll be joining Snap Fitness this week.
August 10, 2015 - Surgery went great! On my way!
August 5, 2015 - final pre-op weigh in! All set for surgery on Monday!!!
July 21, 2015 - pre-op testing done! It's getting really exciting!!
June 28, 2105 - I was able to move up my appointment with the surgeon to June 23, and I was approved! Surgery date - August 10!! I do have a few more appointments - pre-op testing, PCP clearance, and final weigh-in.
I also got my CPAP machine and have been using it a few days. It will take some getting used to. LOL
June 1, 2015 - Second bariatric program appointment went great! All tests/evals done and results in, and I lost 20 pounds! I am RFS - ready for surgery!
Meeting the surgeon July 21. I'm hoping surgery can be scheduled for the week I have off in August.
May 21, 2015 - I found out today I have mild sleep apnea. I'll be going back for a second appointment with the sleep center to be fitted with a cpap machine.
May 10, 2015 - Only one more test to go - my endoscopy, scheduled for May 20. I've lost the 5% of weight they wanted. Now I just have to keep it off, and hopefully lose some more!
April 1, 2015 - I had my first appointment for weight loss surgery. I have a few more tests and appointments to set up, but the ball is rolling!
