My Goals:
My goal is to lose 5 lbs LOL and after that 5 lbs more until I have lost at least 60 lbs. I am very hypothyroid and cannnot seem to lose anything on a 1000 cal diet. I have been vegetarian for 3 years and now since last week after a heart attack on 16th and 26th of Dec, I am vegan.

My Program:
I am now totally vegan and am following De Caldwell B Esselstyn' diet and recipe book after the heart attacks. Right now, unfortunately, I am not allowed to excersise but that will change soon. I am following the diet carefully and am sure the weight will start to melt off

Personal Information:
I am Canadian living out on the highway of the West Kootenays in BC. We have been here for almost 3 years and are able to grow a wonderful, large, organic garden, something we could never manage when we lived in Vancouver. We both originated from Manitoba

Other Information:
I love to do crafts and knit and crotchet but for years I was not able because of severs arthritis in my hands wrsits and fingers. After being vegetarian for over a year that all changed and I have no more pin in my hands and can knit without dropping stitches and needles. My favorite quote since preteen days has always been "Give to the worls the best you have and the best will come back to you" Now it is changed, sincethe heart attacks to "If it is to be, it is up to me."

I see that this is belated but I am sorry to hear about your husband, stay strong. I just dropped by because I noticed some of your posts on the boards and upon coming to your page wanted to tell you that you are a real inspiration! emoticon
I hope I can be as fit and healthy as you when I reach 80!

hi everyone. somehow I got led back to this page and read all the comments from 2010 again. Now things have changed. My brother, who had been in hospital for over 9 months, is finally at home with a nurse every day to change his dressings, but walking and eating and getting better. they plan on taking out the mesh and doing plastic surgery and that should hasten up the healing process. He is a walking miracle and Cec and I were able to visit him on our trip east last Dec. Unfortunately my sweet husband came home with severe blood clots after the 32 hour bus trip and by Feb 17 he was gone. Massive cancers like in the liver and who knows where else so there was no hope for survival and he was ready to go home. it was a complete surprise to even his doctor, because we figured we were going to live forever. Healthy vegan diet, keeping our bodies alkaline, even Kangen water, all the good stuff. For his Cec's sake, it went very fast, just 6 weeks and he was gone, and now I am the one who has to live forever LOL He had a good sense of humor right until the day before he left so I have to keep up the tradition and smile, smile, smile. thanks for all your support and help in these trying times.
