"I am rewriting the manual on my body, because following the "experts" broke it."

I'm a type II diabetic on an insulin pump. After months of eating low carb (and losing about 18 pounds), I finally wised up and realized Paleo is going to be my WOL forever. I've lowered my insulin needs and upped my energy. Not bad for someone with CFS and fibro! And I'm loving keeping track of everything here on SparkPeople.

Welcome! If you need a shoulder, a friend or a virtual coffee at some point, drop by and say hello! I've just celebrated my SP eight month anniversary and am amazed at the absolutely incredible amount of support I've received. This is a fabulous site and you will be astounded at what you get out of it if you give it your all.

To celebrate your arrival at SP in this soon-to-be summer season, I would like to wish you a everlasting renewal of energy and passion, for this is a time to celebrate the great potential you possess. May the sun shine upon you and fire up your heart to reach all of your goals and find joy in yourself and the world around you. Whatever battles you are fighting, whatever stresses may come your way, may you find energy, confidence, vitality and strength. This is the time to shine bright and show the world how beautiful you are. Embrace the summer-lit brilliance of each day and you will create a new life where all your wildest dreams come true. ~ Michelle

On intermittent fasting, Mark says "One tip: During your ďwindow of eating,Ē however long or brief it is, "donít feel that you should eat more than you might be hungry for. Itís a unique opportunity to listen to your bodyís signals."

I think I've been trying to stuff in calories instead of "don't feel that you should eat more than you might be hungry for." If I eat to satiety, some days the calories would only be 500 or so. Gotta research this particular point.

Yeah, this is how I save things I want to remember. I add it to my page.

I saw this on the boost your image pages and LOVE IT! So want to keep it.

Stop negative self-talk immediately. When you catch yourself slipping into negative self-talk (e.g. my thighs are so big, I hate my stomach, my nose is crooked and ugly, etc.) stop immediately. Counter balance that thought with a loving one. Would you say such critical things to your best friend? Of course not! Itís time to become your own best friend and treat yourself with kindness and respect. emoticon
