Never Give Up!!!!!!!

I am doing very well lately! I am one of those people who wants to try everything. Vegetarian, Vegan, organic, raw, gluten-free, paleo...on and on. Through trial and error...lots of error, I have learned what works for me and what doesn't. I am always looking for the easy fix, but am intelligent enough to know that it will not be easy to get this weight off and keep it off.
I am lucky in that I don't have any food allergies or issues with any particular kind of food. I just plain eat ...

I am striving towards that ultimate goal of just eating like a normal weight person. I don't have to be perfect, just better everyday.

My Goals:
I am 5ft 7 tall and would like to weigh 175. At this weight I will feel a lot better and hopefully live a more active and healthy life.

My Program:
I have a lot of joint pain (hips and knees) so I don't get a lot of aerobic exercise, but I do get in some walking every day. As for my diet, I learned a long time ago that my own version of Weight Watchers is what works for me. I don't go to meetings, but I go by the points plan from about 10 years ago. When I stick to it consistently it works. I love this plan because nothing is off limits. I can eat anything I want.

Personal Information:
I just turned 60 and I live in a very small town in Northern California. I have been overweight most of my life and am now feeling the stress of all this weight on my joints. I refuse to be a crippled old lady and want to communicate with others with like goals.

Other Information:
I love rock and roll, crafts and sewing, travel and love, love love nature! I live very near to the most beautiful redwoods and beaches in the world and want to be healthy enough to continue to enjoy these places.

I think it might be a Weight Watchers thing. At least that is where I got it. It's basically 1 can of black beans drained, rinsed and mashed very well combined with a brownie mix. I get the dark chocolate kind (lower in fat). You use the beans instead of the oil and eggs. You may need to add a little water if too dry.
You will be shocked how good they are. I gave them to my husband without telling him what was in them and he loves them now.

Thanks for the encouraging comment on my blog! And I have not heard of black bean brownies but I will definitely give them a try. Enjoy your weekend!
