I am back again after several months absence. I have been back and forth on Spark people for years now. Didn't really gain much while I was gone but just came to a halt.
Got kind of down because my source of daily exercise was our community pool and it is under full renovation and will be out of order for the whole summer. Such a bummer :(
Because I have bad knees, the swimming was perfect for me but my exercise now is a chair aerobics and strength training video I do every morning and I am trying to walk about a mile every afternoon.
( I don't always do the walking but I try)
So here is to more good days than bad and here is to learning a little more about myself everyday!

Fitness Minutes: 1,875

My Goals:
I am 5ft 7 tall and would like to weigh 175. At this weight I will feel a lot better and hopefully live a more active and healthy life.


My Program:
I have arthritis in my knees and hips so walking on the treadmill or elliptical machine hurt very badly. I do walk around my neighborhood but my main form of exercise is the swimming pool. I spend 45 minutes every morning swimming and treading water. Feels good and also is a wonderful form of meditation for me.
As far as food is concerned, I have been on every plan there is and they all work great as far as losing the weight but nothing helped me keep it off after going off the "diet".
So now I eat when I am hungry. I eat what I want. I naturally love healthy food, I was just eating WAY too much of it. I now eat about 1/3 of the amount I used to eat and I feel satisfied without feeling stuffed.



Personal Information:
I am now 62 years old. I am married and my husband needs to lose weight also but not as much as me. I have 2 wonderful grown sons and a beautiful granddaughter.


Other Information:
I love rock and roll, crafts and sewing, travel and love, love love nature! I live very near to the most beautiful redwoods and beaches in the world and want to be healthy enough to continue to enjoy these places.

    I think it might be a Weight Watchers thing. At least that is where I got it. It's basically 1 can of black beans drained, rinsed and mashed very well combined with a brownie mix. I get the dark chocolate kind (lower in fat). You use the beans instead of the oil and eggs. You may need to add a little water if too dry.
    You will be shocked how good they are. I gave them to my husband without telling him what was in them and he loves them now.
