Janie from SC

Hi everyone. I'm Janie from Greenville, SC - near Travelers Rest. I'm 58 years old. I have 100 pounds that I want to lose. My husband recently retired and started his second life in a local camping/boating store. My daughter is going into her second year of college at College of Charleston. My mother now lives within 2 miles of me (this is really the most trying part of my life.) She is 82 years old has alzheimers and diabetes. I am her only care giver. Sometimes I feel like have totally lost my life. I am oncall 24/7 which means I can't go on vacations.
The person outside of me is not the person inside of me. Inside lives a 106 pound active woman. So... that is my goal.
Wish me luck.

My Goals:
1. No longer be the fattest one in a group of skinny exercise freaks.
2. Allow my picture to be taken.
3. Run to Furman and back (about a mile).

Long term goals:
Ride my bicycle to Charleston, SC. (That's 220 miles folks.)
Weigh in at 106 pounds.

My Program:
There is a 106 pound skinny woman inside of me. It is time to let her shine. I now eat and move like that 106 pound woman.

This means a calorie count of under 1500. (Always staying below my BMR - and adjusting as my BMR changes.)

Exercise to the recommended level of 300 minutes per week - adjusting as my ability increases.

Personal Information:
I am married and have a college age daughter.

Other Information:
I love to read, to garden, to and study genealogy.

Hi, I forgot to thank you for your advice on making my goals. I love your suggestions. I'm keeping a journal in a notebook as well as all the stuff I can do on here. Then I can reinforce all your good advice. I'm going to try to make a weekly goal and see how it goes. Once I get so I can actually do what I need to do, I'm sure the weight will start to come off. I think my main problem right now is thinking of all the weight I need to lose. I think I will instead focus on say 10 lbs. at a time. That's much less intimidating. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I'll give that aspirin before the walk idea a try. It wasn't so bad this morning, but still there. Have a great Sunday.
