Hey there, thanks for popping by my blog! A Garmin is a GPS device. Their fitness models track heart rate and calories for a variety of activities like biking, running, hiking, and swimming as well as mapping, speed, cadence, etc. You can learn a lot more at www.garmin.com. I couldn't live without mine for all my outdoor activities, but a regular HRM (heart rate monitor) is good enough for anyone doing indoor activities or only occasional outdoor activities since Garmin devices are very pricy.
