On My Way To A Better ME!

Who am I? I am an athlete. I am a runner. I am a success story.

My name is Jennifer and I am just like most moms. I gained weight when I was pregnant. I kept gaining weight after the baby was born. Then came baby #2 and the process continued. Between baby #2 and baby #3 I successfully worked off all the baby weight and got back down to my wedding weight. My name is Jennifer and I am just like most moms. I gained weight when I was pregnant. I kept gaining weight after the baby was born. Then came baby #2 and the process continued. Between baby #2 and baby #3 I successfully worked off all the baby weight and got back down to my wedding weight. But then came Christmas and baby #3 and post baby eating and guess what, I was right back up there. So this time I'm doing it again - a bit older, a bit more achy, progressing a bit more slowly, but doing it and pledging never to wear maternity clothes again because they are the only things I have that fit.

I started running this year and I just completed my FIRST race - the Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Race to benefit the Mario Lemieux Foundation and it was a wonderful experience. I'm already planning my next goal!

My Goals:
I want to be a great example for all my kids - the ones I gave birth to and the ones that God has blessed me to mentor.

I want to be healthy and I want my family to be healthy too!

And finally, let's admit it, I want to be skinny again :)

My Program:
Learn to say "No"

The keys to my program are to move more, be conscious about what I eat, and not let those well meaning and loving friends and family keep me from doing it.

Personal Information:
I live in Cranberry Twp., PA (just north of Pittsburgh). It's a great place with lots of walking trails and they are working on establishing a safe biking route around the township.

Pittsburgh is wonderful and I love going into town at every chance I get. Love the Strip District, Squirrel Hill, the North Shore and even driving through Perry Hilltop where I grew up.
