My job was to raise them and after they were married I looked for and found another wonderful man. We married about 10 yrs ago after a devestating incident with a root canal that put me in the hospital for 3 months and a long rehab. I am now happily retired waiting for my husband to retire so we can travel. I am so lucky to have 2 wonderful men in my life plus my wonderful son's as well. My husband is now retired although he had a rough start major back surgery and a stroke he is well on his way to recovery and we are finally starting to enjoy retirement.

Recipe for Christmas All Year Long

Take a heap of child-like wonder
That opens up our eyes
To the unexpected gifts in life—
Each day a sweet surprise.

Mix in fond appreciation
For the people whom we know;
Like festive Christmas candles,
Each one has a special glow.

Add some giggles and some laughter,
A dash of Christmas food,
(Amazing how a piece of pie
Improves our attitude!)

Stir it all with human kindness;
Wrap it up in love and peace,
Decorate with optimism, and
Our joy will never cease.

If we use this healthy recipe,
We know we will remember
To be in the Christmas spirit,
Even when it's not December.

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” - Maya Angelou

One minute makes a difference
When running for the train.
One car will change your day
If you're in a crowded lane.

One sentence works a wonder,
If it's needed to be heard.
One deed brings a person light,
As does one kindly word.

One meal is often missed,
One crime means doing time,
One shoe is always searched for,
As is, at times, one dime.

But the greatest One of all,
Be it parent, teacher, friend,
Is the one with you when you're down;
Beside you to the end.
