retired & lovin it!

I am a retired teacher--taught 1st graders for 35 years. Am now very involved in volunteer projects, mostly throught my church. I love to travel and cruise. Am married (45 years) and have 1 son and 2 grandsons.

September, 2009
I've decided it's time to start over! I am determined to do better and to be successful!
I do get in regular exercise at Curves but I've not been very good with the diet! BUT, I'm not going on a diet, I'm going to work on life changes ...

June 2014
My life has changed drastically since losing Chuck in January. I am learning I can do things I never thought I could do--like mowing the lawn! Chuck was the one who loved to work outside and I enjoyed what he planted! This year I took the easy way out--I planted artificial flowers! They bloom all year and I never have to worry about watering them!
October 2014
I'm approaching 9 months of being alone. I don't like it but I'm keeping busy. I have gotten back to Curves and I have lost 25 pounds. I WILL SURVIVE!

My goalsare: 1. to get 40 pounds off in order to first improve my health and so I'll feel better and the bonus of looking better! 2. to improve my eating habits. (I LOVE food ~~ especially what is NOT good for me!)

My Program:
I'm doing good with exercise. Have started doing Curves Smart which is a big help to me
Now I really need to work on the food!

THANK you SO much for your comment today....I freaked so bad and really did not realize so many would see that...surprised me totally....next will be to get back to normal so I can type normally...it's getting better....was rough a couple days...and I missed everyone! I'm very HOPEFUL now and all the comments helped so much.

They cut me loose from home PT and home nursing visits today YAY! So I have like 4-5 more weeks of this sling but it is going GREAT! And I really can't complain now!

Progress is progress, and all is good as long as it's forward movement. It doesn't have to be "physical movement", because it can also include all the positive choices we make in our day, and that's definitely a step in the right direction. So don't get discouraged - just keep choosing what you think is right for you - right in this moment.
