Ran 2 miles with 10lb vest on. Slowest pace 3mph, fastest 5mph. Took it kinda easy b/c of the extra weight. ________________________________________ _ Older stuff below: Allowed some things to get in my way during the last part of 08. But I learned some stuff, too. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Went undiagnosed and untreated for well over 10 years and feel lucky that I haven't developed other autoimmunes. The weight gain was insidious - no matter how little I ate and how much I worked out, I GAINED and never lost. That started changing as of February 08 - finally got euthyroid. I was able to lose one pound per week last year. I worked out faithfully from 2/9/08 till the end of August. Had lost over 20lbs and 11 inches off my hips in that time. Between the mammo scare and guys running amok in my house (I let them go before some of the work was finished - I was just so sick of being jerked around), I slid into a bit of a depressed state and pretty much blew off the last quarter of 08. Gained back only a couple of pounds. Did some research on a supplement and tested it on myself for a few months. So, here I am, recommitting to myself. Started Cathe's Shock Training System on 2/16. Wow, my first week in and I'm loving it - she's got some great ideas. Decided that 'working up' to this system was silly. Start now with what you CAN do and before you know it, you'll be doing MORE. Sometimes we do hold ourselves back and don't even realize it. 2/16 thru 2/21 - lost 1.5 inches off my hips this week. 2/22 thru 2/28 - lost 2.5 in. off hips (total 4) and 3 in. off waist. 3/1 thru 3/7 - lost .5 inches off hips (no other measurements taken) Total off hips - 4.5 3/8 thru 3/14 - Sick this week. Lost .5 inch off hips for a total of 5 inches. 3/15 thru 3/21 - Dental surgery this week. 3lbs. lost, no inches (no measurements taken) 3/22 thru 3/28 - Still recovering from the dental surgery and antibiotics. Will I ever get to lift weights again? My arms feel like spaghetti. Lost another inch from my hips - total loss off hips=6 inches - no other measurements taken. 4/2 - Held a Teaser for a full minute and lowered then raised my legs TWICE - GoaL! 3/29 thru 4/4 - No changes this week. 4/5 thru 4/11 - No measurements taken. Went to a new doc & have started Armour Thyroid instead of synthroid. 4/12 thru 4/18 - starting to feel more alive - got busy and FORGOT To weigh and measure! duh... 4/19 thru 4/25 - No change - TOM. 4/25 thru 5/2 - No measurements - Spark Tucson Rally 5/3 thru 5/9 - No Measurements taken - got the garden in, got ready for Mom to stay a few days with us while she had cataract surgery. 5/10 thru 5/16 - Lost 1 lb! No measurements - can't find the tape measure today. :) 5/17 thru 6/12 - Dental crap - again. 6/14 thru 6/20 - Lost 1 lb 6/21 thru 6/27 - Lost 1 lb 6/28 thru 7/4 - Lost 1 lb - no other measurements taken. My main source of exercise right now is the garden. Been healing up from 'the tooth affair' and plan to hit the iron again. 7/5 thru 8/29 - no measurements taken 8/30 thru 9/26 - no measurements taken. 9/27 - 10/3 - lost .75 inch off my waist and 1/2 inch off hips! Will add as I go along... + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing. - Abraham Lincoln + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + He who gains a victory over other men is strong, but he who gains a victory over himself is all powerful. -- Lao Tzu + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right -- Henry Ford + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try. -- Beverly Sills + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Some people are carbon copies.
