My Toolkit to Happiness

Hi! Welcome to my page... my "home" for the past 4 years... my tool to track my progress and reaching my goals!

I am a runner and I practice yoga... I enjoy going for walks; I have fun finding and trying new recipies; I love to travel and discover new things. I am in the Army (officer) and I am committed to be a positive influence to the people around me - especially my 2 daughters - Emma and Maggie.

My action PLAN...
Motivation: I am doing this for myself ...

My action PLAN...
Motivation: I am doing this for myself first... The reward is feeling good about myself, sense of accomplishment and a positive attitude.

Goal Settings: I set short term and long term goals -rivised periodically! Small steps... I can do this! No more excuses.

Stress: Get out there and work out, it will make me feel better - I keep a personal journal for whenever I need to get the negative emotions out and I BLOG to reflect on the POSITIVE.

Sleep: Getting a good night of sleep is my challenge

Eating: this is not an issue! Really? Eating the right things to keep you going is different and avoiding emotional eating can be a challenge...

Imagery: Focus on the positive, picture myself doing it and remember how it was the last time I did: learn from my mistake.

10 years ago, I could not run 5km. A few changes later and committing to my goals with Spark, I fell much better, positive and proud of my successes. In 10 years, I don't want to have any regrets so I give my best everyday!

My personal challenge:
GO the Distance! 2013= more than 2200km... repeat in 2014

Running and events:
2013:
Feb - 10km Winterlude - in the snow! (Done - 46min) ; Relay for Life (Done!!! Raised 2225$ and did 65K in 12 hours) ; CF Running Championships 10K(May - PB 44.54) ; Army Run 13.1 (Sept, 1h39)

I conquered a MARATHON!!! Niagara Falls (Oct 2013, 3h36)... I qualified for the Canadian Forces National Championship (May 2014) and Boston 2015!

2014:
May - Ottawa Marathon and Canadian Forces running Championship - 3h35m45s, 130/2605 Female, 29/130 F40-44; June - Relay for Life

Hello my friend!! How are you?? How is the yoga training going?

Things here are going well:) Busy at the gym, picking up shifts and adding new classes:) TRX has really been a lot of fun showing people how easy it is to use and seeing people do things they never thought they could:)

I have really stopped checking in on Spark. There just is not enough time in the day. I have stopped tracking my fitness and eating. The funny thing is I don't miss it and have been eating great and well within my range.

There are almond milk yogurts and coconut milk yogurts that you might like if you are thinking of going Paleo. I love eating this way. I have been eating more sugar (dates, raisins, etc.) but I think I have been using them as fuel because I certainly don't feel like I am overindulging:)
The 21 Day Sugar Detox was a fabulous resource for me as is Practical Paleo. Both are on Amazon for under $20.
