My name is Julie. I have been overweight almost my entire life. I started gaining weight at the age of 8. At age 14, I went on a very strict diet program and lost 66 pounds. This caused deep emotional scars that, to this day, I still have trouble with. My mind and body go into panic mode if I get even slightly hungry. This caused deep emotional scars that, to this day, I still have trouble with. My mind and body go into panic mode if I get even slightly hungry. At age 25, I went into a very deep depression, and over the past 16 years, I've put on well over 150 pounds. I have made several half-hearted attempts to lose weight over the years, but the minute it becomes hard or inconvient, I have quit trying. I have done a lot of soul searching lately. I would like to be around to see all my great nieces and nephews grow up. I don't want to be a painful reminder to them of what can happen when you do not take care of yourself. So starting right now, no more hiding away from the world and relying on food for everything. Life is not a sprint, it is a journey and it is time to enjoy the journey!

My Goals:
1. Lose 40 pounds. Goal date - 5/31/13. Reward for this goal - trip to Branson from my Mom! 2. Lose 30 pounds. Goal date - 10/31/13. Reward for this goal - Wii or XBox 360 to use for exercise. 3. Lose 30 pounds. Goal date - 03/31/14. Reward for this goal - To be determined! 4. Lose 30 pounds. Goal date - 08/30/14. Reward for this goal - Sapphire and diamond necklace and earring set! 5. Lose 30 pounds. Goal date - 02/28/15. Reward for this goal - La Perla underwear set. 6. Lose 25 pounds. Final goal weight - 155 pounds. Goal date - 09/12/15 (my 44th birthday). Reward for this goal - New wardrobe and trip to Italy.
My Program:
1. 8 glasses of water daily. 2. 8 hours of sleep nightly and a set sleep schedule of 11:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. 3. Add 1 fruit and 1 vegetable serving per week until I reach the goal of 5 servings of fruits and 5 servings of vegetables daily. 4. Write down/track everything that goes in my mouth. 5. Limit fast food to once a week. 6. Friday is a free day.
Personal Information:
My name is Julie, and I am 41 years old. I have lived in Iowa my entire life. My parents have been married 55 years. I have one brother and one sister. They have blessed me with four nephews and three nieces who in turn have blessed me with six great nephews and three great nieces. They are my joy!
Other Information:
I have a lot of interests. I love movies, music, television, books, traveling, and photography to name a few. My favorite movie is The Lucky One. My favorite type of music is country but my favorite band is Def Leppard. My favorite TV shows are Castle and Bones. I also really enjoy NCIS, NCIS: LA, Grimm, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries. I have to admit I'm a bit of a TV junkie! My favorite author is Sandra Brown, my favorite book is Pride and Predjudice, and my favorite series is Twilight. I would love to travel through Europe someday, especially Italy. A goal I have is to take a photography class when time and money permit.
