My name is Julie. I have been overweight almost my entire life. I started gaining weight at the age of 8. At age 14, I went on a very strict diet program and lost 66 pounds. This caused deep emotional scars that, to this day, I still have trouble with. My mind and body go into panic mode if I get even slightly hungry. This caused deep emotional scars that, to this day, I still have trouble with. My mind and body go into panic mode if I get even slightly hungry. At age 25, I went into a very deep depression, and over the past 17 years, I've put on well over 150 pounds. I have made several half-hearted attempts to lose weight over the years, but the minute it becomes hard or inconvient, I quit trying.

I have done a lot of soul searching lately. I would like to be around to see all my great nieces and nephews grow up. I don't want to be a painful reminder to them of what can happen when you do not take care of yourself. So starting right now, no more hiding away from the world and relying on food for everything. Life is not a sprint, it is a journey, and it is time to enjoy the journey!

My Goals:
1. 40 pounds. Reward for making this goal is a weekend trip to Branson paid for by my mom.
2. 32 pounds. Reward for making this goal is a manicure and pedicure.
3. 28 pounds. Reward for making this goal is new digital SLR camera.
4. 26 pounds. Reward for making this goal is an Xbox or Wii for exercise.
5. 23 pounds. Reward for making this goal is diamond and sapphire necklace and earring set.
6. 21 pounds. Reward for making this goal is a full makeover at my nieceís salon.
7. 19 pounds. Reward for making this goal is La Perla underwear set.
8. 11 pounds. Reward for making this goal is a new wardrobe and a trip to Italy.


My Program:
is a lifestyle change not a diet.
1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day.
2. Add one serving of fruit each week until I reach 4-5 servings of fruit a day.
3. Add one serving of vegetables each week until I reach 4-5 servings of vegetables a day.
4. Eating breakfast each day at the same time.
5. Establish a sleep pattern and stick to it on a daily basis.
6. Utilize the nutrition tracker for everything that goes in my mouth.
7. Blog and/or journal every day.
8. 10 minutes of exercise daily. Add more as I am physically able to do so.


Personal Information:
My name is Julie. Iím 42 years old. I have lived in southeast Iowa my entire life. My parents have been married for 56 years. I am the youngest of three children. I have one brother and one sister, four nephews and three nieces, and six great nephews and three great nieces. I am a medical transcriptionist working from home.

Other Information:
I have a lot of interests. I enjoy going to the movies. I go to a movie with my mom almost every Friday. My favorite movie is The Lucky One. Music is very near and dear to my heart. It can turn a bad day around! My favorite type of music is country but I will listen to anything that I like. My favorite band is Def Leppard and has been since my teen years! I have to admit I'm a bit of a TV junkie! My favorite shows are Castle, Bones, and Haven. I also really like NCIS, NCIS: LA, Supernatural, and Beauty and the Beast, among others! I love a good book. My favorite author is Sandra Brown and I enjoy rereading her books from time to time. I recently discovered the Mortal Instruments Series and I LOVE it! I would love to travel through Europe someday, especially Italy. I love taking pictures. I have my camera with me almost all the time. I would like to take a photography class when money and time permits.
