I lost 60 pounds down from a high of 238 in 1998 to 178 in 2001, and kept it off for more than 5 years. About 2006 I went on an experimental study drug at the same time as I injured my knee. The drug caused weight gain and the knee problem prevented adequate increased physical activity. Result: I put on 25 pounds over 18 months. My Goals:
Although my cholesterol runs in the "normal" range, I'm working to decrease the LDL fat in my diet while increasing the protein. I'm doing better at it. I'm also getting back into exercising more. I used to park in the farthest corner of the parking lot and walk 2 miles a day to my office and then back again, and I also climbed several flights of steps on the way. Lately I've been walking less, but have been swimming more.

My Program:
Working to eat only enough calories to support increased physical activity while losing weight slowly. I have a comfort-style bike I'm planning to ride more this year. My Medicare gets me a "preventive" Silver Sneakers membership, which I am using at the Y that is just around the corner from my home. I'm participating in the (mostly) chair exercise classes every Tuesday: it's fun!

Personal Information:
Raised in NW Ohio, I've lived in 6 states including OH, IN, TN, MI, MS, and NY (Long Island), twice in OH and MI. Happily single again for 30+ yrs, I have 3 successful daughters and 6 wonderful grandchildren! With perseverance, I completed a BS in Biology.

Other Information:
Interested in politics, I am doing lots of volunteer work aimed at helping bring back my inner-city neighborhood.

emoticon Nancy! emoticon for the goodie! It was very kind of you. I have to say Eva is the more active leader, who does more of the work, though I did help get the team reactivated a couple of years ago, and the GGs remain of my 3 main teams I check in with pretty much every day.

I see you a leader of several teams, too, and that can take a fair bit of energy, especially the bigger teams! Hope all is going well in your life, and wishing you continued success and joy on your journey!
