Walker, but hopefully some day a Running Girl, Meatime it's Power 90 & Walking.

Once upon a time I use to be fit and I was a runner. That was about 12 years ago, since then I have aged into my 40's became sedentary, gained weight and have developed high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I tried doing the C25K last fall, but had to drop out due to an ankle stress fracture on week 8. I still hope to become a runner someday, as well as get healthy plus get my weight back to where it use to be or at least at a healthy weight. And I would love to be able to get off blood ...

And I would love to be able to get off blood pressure and high cholesterol medicines and become healthy again. I am tired of feeling horrible all the time! Hoping I can get some life back in me! I had a six month set back because of my ankle, and gained 10 more pounds, but I'm getting back at it! I have been walking again since mid April. I want to try to add some running back in, but going to have to go at my own pace now and go really slow.

My Goals:
I hope to get healthy and get my weight back to a healthy weight less than 150 but my goal is 140. And I also hope to be able to eventually get off high blood pressure and high cholesterol medicines. In doing this I am doing the a Couch to 5K Program and the ultimate goal is to run a 5K in November 2012. I am tired of feeling exhausted and fatigued all the time, it's time to change that!

My Program:
Walking and hope to eventually try running again! I tried the Fleet Feet Sports No Boundaries (Couch to 5K) Program last October, but got an ankle stress fracture.

Personal Information:
I am a married mother of one grown son and two young step-children who live with their mother. I work part-time as a Engagement Specialist aka Wine & Product Demonstrator. I am from Southwest Virginia.

It took me about six months to heal completely. I started slowly walking again in April. I'm walking about 25 to 55 minutes (3/4 to 2 miles) 5 days a week. Usually, I walk one long day a week for 2 miles in about 50 minutes, then the other four I walk 3/4 to 1 mile in 20 to 30 minutes. I've been trying to ease back into it very slowly this time. I'm hoping to start going back to the greenway where I use to do the C25K and try adding in a little running, but this time it will be on my own terms. Gonna take it very slow. They're having the C25K Program again this fall, but I still think even the beginner class is too much on my joints, so I figure it's best to do it on my own terms, real slow.

How are you doing? I know you are still healing from the stress fracture which is a bummer. I signed up for a 5k which takes place on Cinco de Mayo (May 5). Hopefully I will be able to train without problems (Hamstring, plantar fasciitis, etc.). I hope 2013 is a great year for you.

I'm glad they figured out what the problem is. I think you have a good plan. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hey. Sorry to hear that you are still having problems with your ankle. Sounds like you are dealing with t the best you can. Stay positive. Running will always be there when you're ready.
