I stumbled across Spark a few years ago and this has resulted in my having a crash course in social networking, attaining a healthy BMI and finally catching the running bug.

My goal is now to run a Half Marathon faster than someone can walk it.

My Goals:
1) To be able to live a healthy lifestyle instinctively without the need to track and monitor

I have been married 29 years, have three grown up children and live near the medieval market town of Stratford upon Avon. I am a slow but very keen runner and have survived 3 Half Marathons.

Thanks for your kind blog comments, Karen. I just got back from Physio and we have a plan and if I stick to it, behave and don't push it the 2 Castles is looking like a go-er. It's still 50/50 though. I've been given the clear for a small bit of cardio which will help and a good plan for the next 5 days.

You are right though, it is time to think of something else. Running should be pleasurable and at the moment, and before the injury, it was becoming something it shouldn't be. Thanks for your encouragement and support

Not yet, Karen. I am actually injured right now - pretty bummed as was supposed to be running Hilly100 on Sunday and have been training really hard - I think I have "Runners Knee" so might need a bit of time off. However, a half in October is the aim!

I can't choose between Cardiff and Oxford, but if you do Oxford - I will! The only problem is, both races are the day after the MCAA 6 stage relays that I wanted to do...

Will keep you posted.
