Hello. My name is Karen. I am 52 years old and live in the midwest. I have "dieted" my way up to my current 242 lbs. Twice before I lost over 100 lbs. Thousands of times before, I have lost 10, 20, 30 lbs. only to regain it all and more. Today I can proudly say, "I am DONE with diets." Today, I make peace with food and begin my journey to 155 lbs. I live for today, but I look forward to all my tomorrows. I just can't "weight" to see what life on the other side looks and feels like.

My Goals:
My goal is to be healthy; whatever size that might be. I don't have a "magical" number; rather, I'd just like to lose enough weight that I finally feel comfortable in my own skin. 155 sounds nice, but 165 might work just as well. It's a journey - one that I'm willing to let my body control.


My Program:
I started the Atkins Diet on 06/01/13. I have been successful on this program before, so I thought I'd give it another go. Only this time, I am committed to the program being a "way of life" and not just a fad diet. Sugar is my enemy. It's killing me. I must avoid it at all costs. So Atkins it is!



Personal Information:
I'm 52. In April 2011 I married for the first (and only) time. I waited a life time for the "right" man and I finally found him. Now I seek health so that together we may live a long and happy life. Because I married late in life, I have no biological children. But my husband shares his sons with me. . . I am blessed.


Other Information:
I enjoy reading, walking, hiking, playing tennis and dancing. I'm not necessarily "good" at any of them, but I enjoy them just the same. I've learned to cook - some - in recent years, and I'd like to increase my culinary skills by learning to cook "healthy" "wholesome" "real" food.
