FROM THE VALLEY

Went back to fulltime work in Dec of 2012 and retired again in Dec of 2013. Still living in one of the Minnesota river valleys, pretty comfortable here. TIRED of the long winter like everyone else I know. Still enjoying life with long time friends and a few very lovely new friends who all enjoy theatre, books, dining out now and then, and traveling. We were able to spend a week in Fla in Jan..it was cool and misty the entire time but we had a great time! then another week in Punta Cana in ...

We were able to spend a week in Fla in Jan..it was cool and misty the entire time but we had a great time! then another week in Punta Cana in March..all sun, warmth and humidity and lovely long beaches to walk on..two miles each day minimum!.. Now have to get back on Spark and update everything! re-read the Spark book, and continue cleaning closets and drawers..am having my bathroom updated for when I grow even older so I can stay here, God willing! so it will be a mess with a crew here in a couple weeks, and I need to have things cleared out for them. that should burn off some calories!

My Goals:
Have more realistic goals for me:
Lose in a healthy way...20 to 25 pounds, trying for maybe 3 to 4 lbs per month; OR be happy with 1 to 2..it's going off so slowly!.
Do drink 8 glasses of water per day
exercise a min of 15 minutes per day in front of the tv watching the news or some old movie.
Read at least half an hour a day
Try to write at least an hour three times a week, make that four times per week
Have at least one fruit per day
. Do a 2 or a 5K sometime in the next year!


My Program:
Sharing my program both online and with friends..here at home.
Rewards:
3 pounds.. buy fresh flowers
5 pounds. .. get a manicure
8 pounds..take a day to spend at Barnes and Noble sipping coffee and 'maybe' buying a new book
10.. take a day to visit friends out of town, maybe go to the arboretum with them.
15 More fresh flowers for me..I LOVE fresh cut flowers. maybe two bunches!!
20..stop in at the Dress Barn and 'shop' for a new outfit
25. Get new shoes! even if I don't need them and fresh cut flowers....

Personal Information:
Pretty much retired widow who lives with two female cats, has lived in the Midwest all my life, still dream of winters in Arizona but so far that hasn't happened. Am beginning to enjoy traveling more, with long time friends. Love to read, enjoy writing but have a hard time getting started at times but did join a writing group a month ago, and love it!


Other Information:
Love poetry, TC the calico cat; Boris the gray cat..very shy.thus no photo yet! people who are inspiring such as Susan Boyle who amazed even the judges; mysteries, PBS programs including the Brit sitcoms and mystery theatre; Anything Judi Dench is in, including James bond films. Love to iron on rainy days, bake bread when it snows, go barefoot in the yard and garden, get my hands into the dirt in the gardens,

I hope your friend listens to you. Weight loss surgery is a tool, not a fix and she may learn that the hard way. She will have you to lean on when things don't keep on going the right direction on the scale and that's a good thing for her to have, a great friend like you.
