My Goals:
My goal is to lose a total of 30 lbs. and KEEP it off. The first step is to get below 180 to kick back some of the potential health issues. After that I can push forward to 155. Then the real work begins, maintenance!

My Program:
My lifestyle change involves:

exercising a minimum of 5 days a week;

eating more home-cooked meals from scratch;

minimizing sweet intakes; and

consistently drinking a minimum of 8 cups of water each day.

Personal Information:
My name is Karenina (Kay or Nina). I live in the Chicago area with my husband and five daughters. I work full-time at everything (wife, mom, work, you name it) and depending on the day or situation I may love it or just like it. My family takes first place in my life as we truly enjoy each other and like to have fun. They keep me going by encouraging me and cheering me on when I complete each workout.

Other Information:
I love church, interesting, outgoing and funny people, most genres of music (as long as it sounds good), a good book, and good movies (mostly comedy and action). I enjoy sports: Chicago Bears, White Sox, Bulls, and most any other sport that catches my interest.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!!! I hope your weather gets under control & you're able to get back to healthy eating. Crazy huh, that losing your appetite & eaing sugar popsicles didn't move the scale. I know for me I need the proten to cause the scale to go down for me.

Good luck in your journey!

This is from Nixy72

Today is the unofficial "take happiness into your own hands" day. It's unofficial because I just made it up! (*grin*) But it seems like a great idea, right? Today, try not to be controlled by others... decide to be happy, decide to be great. Move forward as if all your dreams could come true today with no barriers standing in your way. Smile, laugh, and be amazing...

emoticon Because you ARE. emoticon

“I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.” - Groucho Marx

Yes I know all to well about the difficulties of autoimmune disorders. emoticon I am so happy to hear the getting healthier is really helping you. I guess that what's great about the human body huh? Give it a little TLC and it's amazing how strong it can be. I know my future sister in law was feeling much better last year when she lost about 70 lbs. Unfortunately she has fallen into old habits. These days she is in too much pain to even go for a walk with me and I worry for her because every time I see her she seems to be in more and more pain. In some way-- I am hoping that if I can transform myself and get healthier, maybe I will inspire her. Being on Spark and reading stories like yours certainly inspires me and keeps me going. Thanks emoticon
