After 4 years, suppose I should update my introduction text. Here goes....
I'm a fat guy and I'm addicted to cyclocross. I have two amazing kids, an ex wife, and small apartment that I share with a few bikes: Frau Blucher (her frame is glued together), Blue Steel (her frame is cheap aluminum and is painted green, but she swears she's made from fine Italian steel. Why she thinks she's blue is anyone's guess), Sybil (I race 'cross and road on her), and Baby Stewie (my mtb--he is out for world domination and tries to kill me on a regular basis. He also calls me Lois.) I also have my son's road bike and my daughter's hybrid. Eve (my tandem) lives in my father's basement, along with my son's old mtb.
My goals are to quit being fat and to not suck so bad at 'cross. One will lead to the other. To quit being fat, I have to resume eating like I did pre divorce and start exercising like I did then. The exercising part has been a breeze. I love to ride, I love to run. I love to race.
Last year, in addition to cx, I did a half marathon, some 10ks, and a couple adventure races.
This year, as my training and nutrition begin to work together, I will repeat last year's events and add some duathlons and (hopefully) some mtb races. It should be fun.
Not get lapped in cyclocross this fall.
1) Ride lots.
2) Lose weight.

Just stumbled on your page - your bikes are impressive! I have an old Schwinn that I refuse to give up... taken me all around the country. I'm slow and steady - no cyclocross for me - but it sounds very cool!

Thanks for you comment on my "Asthma and HAPE" blog. Little Cam looks sweet and is sweet. Little Cam takes care of me.
Ultra Stumpy is a sweet bike now that he has XT brakes in place of the faulty Formula brakes. Ultra Stumpy is a really serious bike that is designed for speed.
My Allez is a sweet ride and so is Little Stumpy. Little Stumpy is a Brit and has reversed controls.
I am doing OK. HAPE hurts like the blue blazes. You are actually starting to drown in your own bodily fluids. That is not a good thing.

I wished I could still ride a bike.I can see how it could clear your head and put you in a better mood. It just gives you the feel of freedom. Keep on biking.

Thanks man, I thought about it when you put it that way and I am grateful that it wasn't an "I forgot I hit a tree...because I got knocked out" kinda moment. NIght riding is some fun stuff!
