College-sized again in 2010

I slowly started gaining weight after graduating from college - the freshman 40 was a bit late. I slowly started gaining weight after graduating from college - the freshman 40 was a bit late. About 7 years ago, a stressful family situation and then pregnancy drove me to eat like a cow, an animal I started resembling. I will be turning 40 this year, and hope to be close to my college weight by my birthday. I started my new healthy lifestyle in January 2009. After reading the book Breaking the Food Seduction by Dr. Neil Barnard, I decided to try a low-fat vegan diet, to see if it would help me with my food craving problems. It helped, and I've stuck with it, loosing 85 pounds since then. I was introduced to hoop dancing right before Thanksgiving 2009 and I'm now obsessed with that too.

It has gotten a lot harder to continue to loose as I've gotten smaller. I'm now really trying to work on my emotional eating issues and my remaining cravings which are mostly for sweets.

SparkPeople has been a great resource for information, motivation and support.

Yeah, hooping has been kinda hard here with the high temps. outside. I have been hooping a few times around dusk, but not as much as in spring. I have learned a new transition move and axis change so that is pretty cool. I still can't get the hoop to raise from my knees though, but I am still trying. Hope you have been well!

I made a hula hoop this weekend at a neighborhood festival and am already in love with it! Do you take classes for your hoop dancing. I have been so into playing around with exercise that I know this is something that is going to stick. It is so fun, and SO HARD!

Not too shabby, but I did have to come on here to get me out of the kitchen. Have a good holiday weekend. It's not a holiday here, but there is a music festival and we have plans to party the weekend away - I intend to pack a healthy picnic though.
