I had a year in 2008 plagued with physical problems. the plantar fasciatis kept me off my feet for 19 months! And the longer i sat on the couch, the harder it got to even want to get active again! Then one day, I realized I wasnt even fitting my fat pants any more. Enough of that! I got off my feet, gritted my teeth, loaded up on the naproxin and got moving again!
active commuting-- either 4 mile walk or an 8 mile bike to work, and a circuit training class. Add as much walking as my feet will endure.
