Lean, Tone, Clean Eating, Healthy Machine - Here I come!

I have learned so much from sparkpeople. The support and community is just amazing. I have been through a lot since joining; lost 11 lbs at one point, binge eating, controlling my sweet tooth, and yet the challenge never ends. I've proven to myself I can follow fitness schedules or 1/2 marathon training to a T so now I want to dedicate 12 weeks to eating clean. I think to achieve the body I want to I need to do this for myself. Reading Oxygen magazine definitely has made me want to achieve ...

I've proven to myself I can follow fitness schedules or 1/2 marathon training to a T so now I want to dedicate 12 weeks to eating clean. I think to achieve the body I want to I need to do this for myself. Reading Oxygen magazine definitely has made me want to achieve this. I want to be like the women in the magazine and they all eat clean! They have their small cheats but it's just that small cheats.

When first joining spark I had no desire to build muscle, I just wanted to be skinny. Sure I weighed 114lbs at one point but did I have the body I really wanted, well back then I might have but I still had a belly bloat from binging so bad on junk food once a week. I have never ever seen amazing abs or muscle definition on myself. That is a desire and goal I truly want to achieve. So I've decided to put myself to a 12 week challenge with the help of Jessica(FITGIRL15) to achieve the body I want for my trip to Punta Cana. Like she says you eat to fuel your body not for pleasure!!:) This challenge will definitely help me behave around the holidays and keep me on track. I'm so happy to have the support from my husband and my friend Katie(HOTPANTS3 who will be joining me on this trip to the beach and eating clean also) and of course all my sparkfriends. This will be tough I realize but in the end it will be well worth it.

My starting weight when I joined spark was 125 so I've reached 114 at one point but after going up and down and up and down lately my body really likes around 125 but I'm still wearing 2 sizes smaller than when I joined spark so you can't always measure progress by the scale so definitely take measurements. I'll be updating measurements and weight but as of last Wednesday here is where I stand:

Weight - 124.5 in
Chest - 33.5 in
Bicep - 10 in
High waist - 27 in
Hip - 35.125 in
Thigh - 22 in

I'm fine at these measurements and weight all though I know if I ate so much better I can definitely be happier and I never definitely want to go above these measurements because that usually means I let way too much junk back into my diet.

My Goals:
I want to eat healthier and get control of my sweet tooth and binge eating attacks! I want to lower my body fat.

Track days when I get a chance but not let it run my life. I'm sometimes too obscessed with those numbers. I need to really push the protein.

Limit junk food sweets to 10% of my calorie intake.

Allow myself 1 cheat day a week as long as I'm not binging on these days and get too carried away!


My Program:
12 week challenge - Starts Oct. 29th- eating clean, building muscle, and achieving the best bikini bod ever!

45 minutes Strength training 3-4 days a week

45 minutes or less of cardio 6 days a week.

1 rest day!:)

Extra activies playing with my kids to keep be busy!


Personal Information:
My name is Kelly and I'm from Iowa. I've never been over weight I just want to tone up and lower my body fat. I'm 5'5" and when I joined spark I was at 125 but lately 2009 this is where I've been flucuating but honestly if I'm eating healthy(not binging and controlling those sweets, it doesn't matter what the scale says because I feel better). I have been married for 6 years and have two beautiful children. A son who is 4 and a daugther who is 1. I work full-time 4 days a week.

Other Information:
I love to spend time with family and friends. I enjoy running road races. They are a great motivation to stay fit and healthy! I really like Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, and Gary Allan and love to try and attend their concerts. I am a big country concert goer! My favorite shows are Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with them but I usually like to watch my shows while I'm running on the treadmill.

How are things going Kelly, sorry I was away for 8 days on a trip back to South Africa ( Lots of planes!!! and many hours travelling! ) so i have not kept up to date with what you have been doing??
I came back with Bronchitus and a bad dose of it too, so am trying to recover! The Memorial service for my mother was beautiful, but I am still rather fragile .......I hope to take baby steps back to recovery!

I am hoping that you are seeing the resluts you wanted and that your heard work is paying off! take care
and have a run /walk / whatever for me, I can't do a thing at the moment!

that should take you to a picture of a pomegranate. theyre soooooooooo freaking good. just cut it in half and put it in a bowl of water overnight, face down, and that loosens it up, then you pull out the red seeds from inside and eat them and they are delicious. they can be a little sour, which is why i add 1 packet of splenda. maybe a similar taste to a raspberry, but way better. you just have to be careful because they will stain.. bad. like if you get POM juice at the store, it stains the insides of the plastic bottle. i have never tried the yogurt recipe and i probably wouldn't eat it anyway because i hate yogurt. theres no way a liquid is going to make me think i am full and its creepy to me that there's "fruit" in it too. yogurt and oatmeal. i eat oatmeal daily, but the stuff just pisses me off. it tastes like and feels like glue and sticks to bowls and i really just dont like it! hahaha oh, and i cant help you with soup either. the only kind i like is italian wedding and thats def not healthy!!

kelly, i have been soooooooo bad this week. i keep eating peanut butter like non stop with a spoon, ive had m&m's, today i had a slice of carrot cake, i just haven't been able to stop myself from all my little cheats. and im hungry all the time. no matter what i eat i cannot be satisfied with it and i eat like 2000 cals a day, at least. this is not going to help my case with getting my abs back to what they look like in my picture. do you think its because its girl time that i cant stop myself? how much longer do you go on the super clean kick?

how come you guys have so many thanksgivings? are you going to eat whatever you want? i am and im not going to care at all about it. im going to spend black friday in the gym. thats literally all im going to do the next day. all of my boyfriend's gifts are being purchased online or at the brooks brothers' down the street from my work, im buying my bfs dad a sweatshirt from our gym and i have nooooooooo idea what to get his mom. any suggestions on what to get moms for xmas? it will be my first time getting her a gift, and i probably wouldn't get anything but im spending xmas with them this year.

Hey Kelly, I'm IN! I'll report to you also on my eating. I'm going to do my best to track over the weekend knowing that I'll be telling you all about it. Hopefully this will help me stay on track. Hopefully I don't get into that eating high that makes me want to throw caution to the wind and just eat whatever and how much I want. Do you know what I mean? I need to have a great weekend. I need results on Tuesday!! I know you'll behave too!

Long time no talk!!! I have been running around like a crazy woman so I haven't had much computer time lately. How are things going? Are you still sticking to the clean eating and weight workouts? Are you dreading Thanksgiving or looking forward to it? I am guessing that will have to be your cheat day for the week.

I weighed this morning and I was down to 126.5!! I would love to be a couple pounds lighter but considering the scale was stuck at 128 for a few weeks I will take it. I have been staying within my calorie range but still not the best food choices. I am ready for Thanksgiving to be over so that I have a full month where I can not worry about "event" eating.

Yeah - I'm just a loser when it comes to responding! Haha!

Well, at least we were in the same boat this past week, huh? Yesterday was WAY better and today's been great too! Treadmill is coming in good use! Good idea on saving your cheat day! That's pretty darn awesome! You seem to really be good at judging when!

Grey's was great last night. Too much jumping around for me, but oh well...it was still good! You'll still enjoying your Zumba? ;)

I'm hoping the bloat goes away soon...thanks! That little bloated guy was cute! Loved it! It'll be fine - we'll probably eat out tonight, but I'm going to seriously behave! After Wednesday, I can't do this again! It's not fun. Part of it though I know is from starting running up again - every time I do something new/fresh, my muscles seem to hold that bloat for awhile!
