I'm Kelly and this is my journey!

There have been many changes in my life since I was last active at SP. In 2014, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia and Type 2 diabetes. Since then 'life' has been physically painful for me and I am not in great condition right now but I will at least be working to eat much healthier to control my blood sugar and for overall health improvements. Recently my blood sugars have been high so I plan to buckle down and seriously make necessary changes to my diet. As for exercise, that will be a 'seek and find' because I don't really know what I can do at this point. I can't walk much and can not do anything like aerobics or running.

Losing weight has a whole new meaning now, I need it more than ever before. My life depends on it. I hope to find support here from old friends and new ones, as well as with others who suffer from RA and Fibromyalgia, diabetes.

Very active for about 2 years and lost 70 lbs. After that, it was a slippery slope and I was in and out of SP until 2013 when my health turned upside down and I left. For about 11 months I had no use of my right arm so being online was difficult and not worth the effort. I am feeling motivated and here. I am again.

I hope to connect with others who have physical challenges, chronic pain and chronic illness.

My Goals:
Starting weight on 12/14/16 was 320. Goal is 250 by end of year of 2017.

This time is different though, I have new challenges and am less able to do physical exercise at this time. I now have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, as well as Type 2 diabetes. I'm not in good condition right now and due to the chronic pain I'm not able to do much but I figure I can at least work on the 'changing the way I eat' part of it. I want to give up red meat and all soda, more fruits and veggies and more water. These are the things I'll be focusing on to start out. I know it won't be easy, and won't happen overnight, but I need to make this happen and get the weight off before it literally kills me. I hope to find support from old friends, new ones and hope to also connect with other Sparkers who have RA and Fibro,

    Hi Kelly ~ Sorry it took me so long to stop by! Still, I was so happy to hear that you reached your 30 lb mark! That is so wonderful. When I see those pictures floating around on SP of what a pound of fat actually looks like, it is amazing! You just lost so much, my Grandson weighs around 30 lbs and let me tell you, he is heavy! lol That is a great accomplishment! I am so proud of you. Keep moving forward! Have a great week!!

    Kelly! I have been missing due to shame! While I was away I have decided I'm not perfect. Why would my attempts at getting healthy be? I am back with a better attitude and a bit smarter. I'm glad you got yourself a kitchen scale, they are better at keeping serving sizes real than our eyes haha. Thank you for coming to check on me! I was touched as I didnt even dream my absence would be noticed. Have a good coming week 💜

    emoticon emoticon emoticon on your results for the Spring challenge. You did really great.
    I hope the new meds works for you.
    I didn't go to good on the challenge. I pretty much stayed the same (+- 5 lbs. range) It's not bad since I didn't gain more but for the summer one I'd really like to lose 10 pounds or so. It'll help feel better overall.
    As far as my health goes I'm doing okay. Still having trouble controlling my diabetes but I'm working on it.
    As far as my back pain goes, I saw my doctor and he says it's bad but it's chronic and he gave me pain killer for when it's too intense to bare, and I'm waiting to get another set of injections and see if it helps any.
    So far I am feeling okay. Very limited on some types of movements and I'm learning what they are and how much pain they cause and how to modify them. I'd say I'm in the learning process still emoticon

    I hope you'll find something nice looking around and that you will enjoy your summer even if you are not participating in a challenge.
    I'm taking part in it but as honorary for sure.

    oh Kelly I truly hate to see you go !!
    That being said...... I DO so understand. I only do the challenges about half of the time because of the time and they mostly interfere with the plan I am trying to follow at home !!
