Update. Since returning to Sparkpeople approx 5 months ago, I have lost 32 lbs. Yes, I wish it were more but I refuse to give in to the little voice who says "that's not much" because I know it is false and the truth is that it is actually an amazing accomplishment. Due to my health I am not able to be very physically active. I can only do what my body allows at any given moment so, for me, this loss is deepy personal and I feel like I have achieved something really important. No one can take that away from me, not even my own little voice of self-doubt. I will say to it "just shut up". Lol!!!
Do what you can do when you can do it and don't let anyone discourage you or make you feel like your efforts aren't good enough. When those internal voices start yapping, rise up and shut that nonsense down. Go Me!

I'm Kelly and this is my journey!

There have been many changes in my life since I was last active at SP. In 2014, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia and Type 2 diabetes. Since then 'life' has been physically painful for me and I am not in great condition right now but I will at least be working to eat much healthier to control my blood sugar and for overall health improvements. Recently my blood sugars have been high so I plan to buckle down and seriously make necessary changes to my diet. As for exercise, that will be a 'seek and find' because I don't really know what I can do at this point. I can't walk much and can not do anything like aerobics or running.

Losing weight has a whole new meaning now, I need it more than ever before. My life depends on it. I hope to find support here from old friends and new ones, as well as with others who suffer from RA and Fibromyalgia, diabetes.

Very active for about 2 years and lost 70 lbs. After that, it was a slippery slope and I was in and out of SP until 2013 when my health turned upside down and I left. For about 11 months I had no use of my right arm so being online was difficult and not worth the effort. I am feeling motivated and here. I am again.

I hope to connect with others who have physical challenges, chronic pain and chronic illness.

My Goals:
Starting weight on 12/14/16 was 320. Goal is 250 by end of year of 2017.

This time is different though, I have new challenges and am less able to do physical exercise at this time. I now have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, as well as Type 2 diabetes. I'm not in good condition right now and due to the chronic pain I'm not able to do much but I figure I can at least work on the 'changing the way I eat' part of it. I want to give up red meat and all soda, more fruits and veggies and more water. These are the things I'll be focusing on to start out. I know it won't be easy, and won't happen overnight, but I need to make this happen and get the weight off before it literally kills me. I hope to find support from old friends, new ones and hope to also connect with other Sparkers who have RA and Fibro,

Eat right

Eat more veggies and fruits
Lower carbs

    It is so great to see you on! I saw on your blog that you were having some health problems, then days went by and I really wanted to check on you. I am really happy to hear that you are feeling a little better. I hope that you continue to improve each day.

    I have been doing alright. I have been struggling with the ' healthy nutrition lifestyle'. Unfortunately, my kitchen usually has a lot of temptations and I am the only one here that is concerned with losing weight or making health a priority. So, it makes things pretty difficult. I'm told, I just need willpower.... LOL emoticon emoticon

    Anyways, on a positive note my joints are finally showing signs of improvement. It has taken a little effort each day and patience, but finally they are being a little nicer to me. I was actually able to job off and on for about 20 seconds at a time yesterday! I didn't do it for long and I probably wont try again for a few days. I am happy though because I really was starting to doubt that they would ever get any better. Now I have a little glimmer of hope! :)

    Speaking of hope, I really do hope that you can get back to Sparking. It makes me so happy to see you progressing and losing weight. We all need this so much for our health and I love being on this journey with you! Take care and I hope you are feeling up to Sparking along real soon!
