Hi, I'm Kathryn. I've finally accepted the fact that losing weight is no longer the easy process it used to be when I was younger. The combination of menopause and mid-life crisis threw me into a depression . I turned to food for comfort and the pounds started to creep up. Initially I was looking for the perfect diet or "magic pill" to lose the weight. Thankfully a health crisis brought me to my senses and with much support and prayers I got on track with a healthy lifestyle. Been a member of SP since Aug 2008 and it has been a blessing. It helps me stay on course from one day to the next and gives me the accountability which was sorely lacking before.. Each morning I say to myself "How can I honor God today?" Part of that requires that I put healthy food in my body (His Temple) and keep as fit as I can. I find that the more my perspective and attitude line up with His will the easier it is to live a healthy life - but I have a long way to go still.

My Goals:
Achieve a normal BMI ; make exercise a daily habit;
control binge eating and get off of BP medication.

My Program:
Meal planning is the cornerstone of my program. I use the food tracker to help me stay in my calorie range. Exercise includes Strength Training and cardio 5-6 days per week. Stress reduction techniques to avoid binging.

Personal Information:
I am a transplanted New Yorker now living in FL. Eager to pursue a new career in health and wellness.

Other Information:
Favorite book is The Bible. I love music, reading and learning to live calmly and peacefully in the techno-crazy 21st century.

Hi Kathryn! I bet you are doing well and join me in looking forward to the sunny days and cooler weather soon! I hope you are doing well! My scale went up a bit yesterday--my own fault--not watching what I put in my mouth while I was cleaning the garage! But today is a new day!

Hi Kathryn, I am missing the early sunshine too! Funny how your whole schedule changes with the seasons! I hope you are doing good with everything?

I really like the group I am in for over 50 and needing over 50 pounds to loose weight. I have been in it since the beginning of the year and have learned so much about my habits and down falls. So now I am more consistent and accountable and finally have this taking care of me in motion!
