Hi, I'm Kathryn. I've finally accepted the fact that losing weight is no longer the easy process it used to be when I was younger. The combination of menopause and mid-life crisis threw me into a depression . I turned to food for comfort and the pounds started to creep up. Initially I was looking for the perfect diet or "magic pill" to lose the weight. Thankfully a health crisis brought me to my senses and with much support and prayers I got on track with a healthy lifestyle. Been a member of SP since Aug 2008 and it has been a blessing. It helps me stay on course from one day to the next and gives me the accountability which was sorely lacking before.. Each morning I say to myself "How can I honor God today?" Part of that requires that I put healthy food in my body (His Temple) and keep as fit as I can. I find that the more my perspective and attitude line up with His will the easier it is to live a healthy life - but I have a long way to go still.

I've been all over the map in the past 6 1/2 years. I knew that changing bad habits and establishing a healthy lifestyle would not be easy, but I did not think it would be this hard. The hardest part for me is staying motivated. I need accountability - that's the best thing about SP, it will keep me honest. I have slacked off and my weight and health have suffered but there is no option but to get back on track or fall farther behind ( and I've got way too much "behind" already)

My Program:
Meal planning is the cornerstone of my program. I use the food tracker to help me stay in my calorie range. Exercise includes Strength Training and cardio 5-6 days per week. Stress reduction techniques to avoid binging.



Personal Information:
I am a transplanted New Yorker now living in FL. Eager to pursue a new career in health and wellness.


Other Information:
Favorite book is The Bible. I love music, reading and learning to live calmly and peacefully in the techno-crazy 21st century.

    Thank you for your kind words on my recent blog. I love the snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. That's a great phrase and I need to stop doing that. There has to be one too about never starting because of fear too.

    Still here and still hanging tough - been maintaining for 4 years now, though I did gain a little weight over the past few months - back up to 126 pounds, so need to get back down to under 120. I know I can do it though, I did it once I can do it again.

    I see you are back full force too! 2016 was an up and down year for me too! I pulled out my planning book and I have the same plans since 2004! So yes I am just about to venture on my great journey of fixing me! I figure I have about another 30 years here so I might as well make it the best I can!
    I did start Nutrisystem again and this is my 'Fast 5' week and I am actually liking it! I saw it on QVC at a much better price than the site so I locked it in for a year; but can cancel at any time! Saturday will be my last day on fast 5 and I hope to have some good numbers to start my 5% challenge!
    I still belong to the over 50 challenge too! oh and Nutrisystem one here too!
    I am glad you have returned to Spark~~it really does help me too!
