Getting back up again

My weight has gone up and down most of my life but then I hit a new high weight and decided I had had it. I got more serious on sparkpeople, got my food in order, started exercising regularly and started feeling better and losing weight. I felt great. And I had lost almost 40 pounds. I was on my way!

Then a series of bad things in life hit me one after the other. I got depressed. I lost my inner strength. I stopped caring about myself. I tried to hang in there but I was only ...

I got more serious on sparkpeople, got my food in order, started exercising regularly and started feeling better and losing weight. I felt great. And I had lost almost 40 pounds. I was on my way!

Then a series of bad things in life hit me one after the other. I got depressed. I lost my inner strength. I stopped caring about myself. I tried to hang in there but I was only putting forth a token effort. I just couldn't seem to find myself again and I just couldn't seem to find the energy to care about me. Sure enough, gradually my healthy habits faded away. Before I knew it I had gained all the weight back that I had worked so hard to lose. I felt even worse. Before I knew it I had gained 20 more pounds on top of it. I felt worse.

Fortunately, I had another "I HAVE HAD IT!" moment. I got sick and tired of living this way and decided I had to change. Unfortunately, right as I was getting back to my healthy ways I injured my back. That was a major blow to my fragile motivation. I'm not going to let it stop me though. I'll start by doing what I can do NOW.

Since I have a lot of weight to lose and a long way to go my plan is to focus primarily on the next five pounds.

Short-term goal - lose 5 pounds
Mid-term goal - lose first 10%
Long-term goal - get under 300

HI Sweetie Melissa !!

Hon, so very sorry ur back is acting up. :( Did you over do earlier on this week? If so, plz when you restart,,,, you may wish to use as a base line for exercise,,, what you had done the week b4,, such as sticking to around 30 mins of exercise,, and NOT do in the 40s,, as you have been,, and see if this helps you out hon. I HATE back pain,, does urs also make you feel like "losing my lunch"? I get it soo hard that it wraps around my ribs !! Riding in the car is HORRENDOUS on me !!! I just can't do this ! Even 20 mins ,,, that's enough to have me in sooo much pain,,,, yeah. If I though remember to put on my brace,, and also some salon (or therocare) wraps,,,, without those,,, I am a GONER !! Or since it's cheaper,, if I am going on a quick ride,, solonpas,,, ?? Sp !!! Those smell so NICE and ahhh they DO WORK, but if you sweat,, they come RIGHT OFF ! UGHERS !!

TY FOR ALL YOU DO !! We are now 1/2 THERE !!!! Than come around week 7 or 8,, we RESIGN UP For the FALL Challenge of 2014,, HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US !! U are CLEARLY A DAWGGIE for LIFE !! WOOHOOOO !! What could be BETTAH THAN THAT???

COOL JOB Melissa ! Glad the back isn't hurting as it was. :) GREAT !!

I didn't realize when I first agreed to the surg,,, I'd be OFF my foot for sooooo long ! but with this one,,,, I can so easily lose the toe,, and since it's my big one,,, guess I am hoping this will work. Tonight it's pulsating some. I am SUPPOSED to be in BED, COUCH ,, and LOL LOVE this part,, "BRP" Bath room Priviges ONLY !! My friends have knocked themselves OUT !! FOR to MY HORROR !!! My 2nd day into all of this,, thanks to a CREAPY neighbor,,, From his place to mine,, BED BUGS !! I am SURE you can easily see my HORROR of this !!!! THANKFULLY one of my friends who lives upstairs 6 floors higher above me,, KNEW what to do. She once found 6 of them,, read ALL she could about them,, and KNOWS what to do !! I had A LOT more than that, but they were mostly on the couch,, and a few on the bed,, THANKFULLY NO PLACE ELSE !! So I at once called the LAND LORD,, and hey at ONCE sent in the bug people,,, pest co. It was great ! They knocked most of them out,, than my friend had a steam machine,, and I ALSO bought one,, and TA DA !! That's ALL one needs,, is a commercial grade steam machine (If you ever know anyone who gets these ) and killed them.

I was sooo fortunate for they were GONE in less than 8 days from the time I called the land lord. Others who do NOT have a steam macine (most do not know to get one,, and I do not know their finances),,,, but YEAH !!! It GETS RID OF THEM ! HOWEVER since the guy upstairs STILL has them,,, going on 3 months I found out ! YO !! Toorow or Tues,, the pest co will go in for first treatment,,, here they come for 6 times,,, even if they are gone,, so I have 4 more visits,,,, if his place isn't clean,, they will cancel and charge him a 50 fee for showing up. Than they will come back a few days later,, again if he's not ready,, another 50,, and the landlord FINALLY has someone come and clean FOR HIM for 500.00 ! He's a GUY ! A TYPICAL one who still needs Momma,,, and has NO CLUE !!! it's not his fault,, he did live in group home,,, developmentally disabled,, and shold be back there again. I wish they would do this,,, this is his 2nd time in a yr and a 1/2 to have them !! He "collects" things from people TRASH !! UGHERS !!! NO MATTER HOW many times he's been TOLD to NOT do this,,, he still does.

At least now I have the steamer,, and WILL Keep on steaming til he's cleared on a daily basis,,, than once he is cleared,, I'll do it once a week. Makes the place look so NICE !! My couch is back to it's original color,,,, (it wasn't really dirty,, just a tiny bit). I LOVE the way my place looks ! SO FRESH and CRISP !
