My weight has gone up and down most of my life but then I hit a new high weight and decided I had had it. I got more serious on sparkpeople, got my food in order, started exercising regularly and started feeling better and losing weight. I felt great. And I had lost almost 40 pounds. I was on my way!

Then a series of bad things in life hit me one after the other. I got depressed. I lost my inner strength. I stopped caring about myself. I tried to hang in there but I was only putting forth a token effort. I just couldn't seem to find myself again and I just couldn't seem to find the energy to care about me. Sure enough, gradually my healthy habits faded away. Before I knew it I had gained all the weight back that I had worked so hard to lose. I felt even worse. Before I knew it I had gained 20 more pounds on top of it. I felt worse.

Fortunately, I had another "I HAVE HAD IT!" moment. I got sick and tired of living this way and decided I had to change. Unfortunately, right as I was getting back to my healthy ways I injured my back. That was a major blow to my fragile motivation. I'm not going to let it stop me though. I'll start by doing what I can do NOW.

Since I have a lot of weight to lose and a long way to go my plan is to focus primarily on the next five pounds.

Short-term goal - lose 5 pounds
Mid-term goal - lose first 10%
Long-term goal - get under 300

    So GLAD ur starting to feel better ! JUST In time for the SUMMAH Challenge ! CONGRATs !! What are you goals? How do you plan on reaching them?

    Hopefully I'll know soon as to what's really going to happen. Shoot the bones in the big toe are all fused together. I don't think he knows this,,,, IF I happen to have him again tomorrow (I'll be PISSED if I do !) I will have the wits to let him know,,,, not that he'll change his viewpoint.

    TY Melissa,,,, I'll get through it,,, I just ALWAYS keep in mind the outcome. I do this also with being along this journey of being healthier. I can either sit on my hiney "wishing" I was healthier,,,, but, yeah "wishing" and thinking about it,, does NOT work.

    U and I have learned we have to take action. I am not sure if you can "see" the steps in your mind? I can see myself in my mind,, which I follow as action on eating more veggies. As you know this is very difficult for me. So I went Sunday night to fix supper. I KNEW I HAD to have a veggie. So I went into the kitchen,, decided I wanted a sandwich ,,, so I cut up a bunch of red, yellow, green peppers and ontions,, later added in garlic. YUMMY !!! Often I do these in a light sauce. Very good by themselves also. Its sooo WEIRD into my freezer,, fridge and see some of that green stuff iI NEVER would of eaten before. I am finding broccoli isn't as nasty as I thought,, though it's NOT a favorite !

    I also now write up a schedule for the day. I HAVE to add in rest time,,, LOL I am sooo much like my Mom and Dad,,,, they'd sit down to watch TV,, read,, and they would QUICKLY b FAST ASLEEP !! By scheduling the day,,, all that I want or normally do,, showering,,, cooking,, cleaning the house,,, exercise etc,,, it's making ALL the difference !! AWESOME !
